The other day I was watching Step Brothers - I know, it's fine Holiday fun - and there was a point in the movie where they were watching a reality show. I giggled a bit and sighed and actually said I miss that particular show. Reality shows are my guilty pleasure. I especially love when they are unique, weird, or especially drama filled. That's how I like my drama - with an off button. The first-ever "reality musical" Branson Famous premieres December 29th at 10pm ET/9C on truTV and this sounds right up my alley.
Branson is called the Live Music Show Capital of the World. There are daily music, magic, and comedy shows as well as casinos and all the nature attractions - fishing, hiking, biking, and more - the Ozarks provide. The show Branson Famous revolves around the Mabe family, stars and producers of the longest-running variety show in Branson, MO. Their landmark legacy show The Baldknobbers Jamboree has been chock full of family drama, burning jealousies, and sequined costume changes for 55 years, but they are struggling financially and trying to stay afloat. The show Branson Famous follows the Mabe clan as they audition new, youthful singers to breathe new life and a modern twist into the act.
The auditions are drama-packed and full of disputes! Brandon Mabe and his girlfriend Megan are bent on taking over the family business, but they'll have the fight of their life on their hands as Brandon's father and mother dig their heels in to keep their show as is. Of course, expect surprises, a blonde bombshell, and a mystery investor. I'm pretty excited to see the group break out in song as I tend to do that a few times a day myself. I'm usually met with strange looks from my family which only makes me do it more.
Head over to the Branson Famous website to read more on the Mabe family, their variety show, and even see the first episode of Branson Famous. Watch the video below to "Meet the Mabes" and Watch clips and more on YouTube. Don't forget to Like Branson Famous on Facebook!
I wonder if the family can pull together to continue their show?

I grew up in Missouri and have been to Branson many times. I've never heard of this show, however. (And in all honesty, I didn't even know Branson has casinos!!) I'm trying to imagine a MUSICAL reality show and it's, well ... difficult at best.

I've never heard of the show before. StepBrothers is one of my favorite movies, and my mother got so much of a kick out of it that I got the DVD for her last Christmas.
