The Myrtle Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has surpassed 1 million “likes” on its official consumer Facebook page, Visit Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is the first U.S. beach destination to achieve this distinction, and after visiting Myrtle Beach last year, that doesn’t surprise me at all!
To celebrate the achievement, Myrtle Beach is kicking off a year of appreciation to recognize the individuals that helped reach this impressive milestone: its fans (that means YOU!). Once-in-a-lifetime trips and treasured memories are the focus of the celebration that encourages fans to register to win various giveaways.
The celebration will begin with the Million Dollar Beach House Vacation Getaway which allows fans to enter to win a dream vacation: a week-long stay in a million dollar beach house along the pristine Myrtle Beach coastline. Fans will submit entries through the Visit Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Facebook page now through Aug. 30, 2013. Then, one lucky winner will be chosen to experience this fun-filled trip.
The Million Dollar Beach House Vacation Getaway is not the only prize the CVB will be giving away to its loyal fans. The CVB also plans on announcing another promotion honoring military service personnel and their families. Look for more details on this promotion later this fall.
In addition to these two signature promotions, the CVB will conduct monthly trip giveaways through a campaign that encourages fans to take a trip down memory lane. Whether it is a treasured childhood memory or hitting a hole-in-one at an area golf course, fans will be asked to share their stories throughout the year for chances to win monthly trips and prizes.
“We are continuously humbled by the loyalty of our visitors, which is even more obvious now that they can share across social media, most notably Facebook. Our million-themed promotions are the perfect way to say thanks,” said Scott Schult, executive vice president of marketing for the Myrtle Beach Area CVB. “Vacation memories are powerful when they are shared among families, and a focused effort around sharing these real vacation stories is our way of inspiring the next million to enjoy ‘America’s Family Beach.’”
Myrtle Beach joins a small group of global destinations that have crossed the million ‘like’ threshold on Facebook. To “like” Visit Myrtle Beach on Facebook or to learn more, visitwww.facebook.com/visitmyrtlebeachsc.
