I was just cleaning up my photo files on the laptop and transferring everything over to my Shutterfly account and found this picture that I took this summer at the Looking Glass Falls Waterfall in Pisgah National Forest.

looking glass falls waterfall smoky mountains

We took Angeline and my oldest niece Katarina up to the Smoky Mountains for 4th of July weekend and had a blast!

Chris took his bike to Deal's Gap in Robbinsville and I took the kids to the river each day, except for this day. We drove 2 hours to Brevard to see my grandparents and then I took them into Pisgah National Forest to the Looking Glass Falls waterfall on the way back so the kids could play in the waterfall.

Going to the Looking Glass Falls waterfall has been a family tradition ever since I can remember. I love that I am taking my daughter and her cousin, just like my parents took me and my cousins when I was their age!

We definitely need a repeat visit in 2013!

Where do you want to go in 2013? I'd love to have you join me and Stefanie from Mommy Musings in Wanderlust Wednesday! You can also link up if you are posting a wordless Wednesday meme that is travel-related!

That looks like a lot of fun! Kind of reminds me of Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica.

My laptop broke this year and I realized making all my calendars how happy I was to have a lot of my photos saved there already. I save everything to disc but what a pain to go digging. Great shots!

You really should go. I used to live in Brevard and the falls are still my favorite thing about the area. They are so beautiful!

Looking Glass Falls is on 276 through Pisgah Forest, as you come off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Cradle of Forestry and Sliding Rock are also right there, it's a great way to spend a day!

That is gorgeous ... and my type of vacation spot. I've been to a few waterfalls but it was always in the Fall or Winter when they were ice cold or actually frozen.

That looks amazing. I saw a waterfall like that somewhere in the bahamas when I was down there years ago. We just don't have things like that up here in New England!
