Walgreens Balance Rewards Program - There's an APP for that! #BalanceRewards

There are two things that I really, really love in life: shopping and technology. When the two things coincide? Boy does that make me happy!

As a stay at home mom, you'd think that I have all the time in the world to do things like bargain-hunt, clip coupons and keep track of sales and deals. Between Angeline's activities, caring for the animals, keeping house and working myself silly with the blog, I find that I am always running to Walgreens completely unprepared for every day things like toilet paper, sandwich bags and doggy training pads...

On the one hand, it's super convenient because Walgreens is only 3 blocks away, but at the same time, I always miss out on sales because everything is so last minute that I am not actually planning it!

So...how exactly does the Walgreens Balance Rewards program tie into this?

I am so glad you asked.

Walgreens now has a really cool program (that would be the Balance Rewards program) where customers can earn points, get exclusive savings and redeem rewards - and they can do it all from the comfort of WHEREVER. Wherever they want.

Because guess what?

THERE IS AN APP FOR THAT!

Now, of course you can sign up for the Walgreens Balance Rewards program in the store by scanning the QR code with your smartphone, or you can even sign up online and then just use the app on your smartphone as you are shopping in the store.

BUT, why go to the store when you can just shop the Walgreens Balance Rewards app right from your phone?

I actually signed up for the Walgreens Balance Rewards right from the app while sitting on my couch watch How I Met Your Mother on Monday night. It was super easy and totally awesome. You can see the complete story of my shopping "trip" in this Google+ album.

You simply bring up the Walgreens app like so...

Now, I actually found out that I already had an account while I was trying to register, so all I had to do was set up the Balance Rewards part of the program. It was really easy!

If you have signed up in the store at the register (totally old school!), you can scan your card or manually enter it in here as well, so you still have your info in the app.

Once you're all signed up, you have a copy of your card right there in the app, so that when you are out shopping at Walgreens, you can just flash your smartphone and have them scan your code - no more worrying about forgetting your rewards card at home or on your extra key ring.

We all know that we don't leave home without our smartphones - so your Walgreens Balance Rewards card is always with you!

Not only will you have all of your Walgreens Balance Rewards membership information handy, but the app also keeps track of your activity and your points balance. I love being able to just log into one place for everything, it makes my life easier!

Now to my favorite part...the shopping!

One of the things I most love about the Walgreens Balance Rewards app is that you can actually keep track of the Walgreens sales flyer each week, which is based on your location. Make sure you've enabled location services for the app so that it's accurate!

You can also search for any available Walgreens coupons, aside from the weekly circular. I particularly love this function because I get to actually save money while I am shopping via an app - and that is something that many apps lack, the ability to use promos or shop sales and use coupons.

I did a little shopping for a few things I needed around the house through the Walgreens Balance Rewards app and it was so easy to navigate. I just browsed by category and added to my cart - and the best part?
