Every year after school lets out, I take Angeline to the Orlando/Kissimmee area for a little extra special fun. Since we are only a 3.5 hour drive away from the country’s best theme parks, it’s the perfect way to end the school year and begin our summer!
We are extra excited for our trip this year because Universal Orlando Resort has just added two new reasons to visit! They are calling it the “Year to be Here” and that is no exaggeration!
Universal Orlando Superstar Parade
The streets of Universal Studios will transform into a theme-park-wide performance stage as today’s most beloved stories and characters bring new excitement to guests everywhere! Universal’s Superstar Parade is one of the largest entertainment experiences that Universal Orlando Resort has ever created, with elaborately decorated floats, a ton of energetic street performance artists, and fantastic music and dance performances! Guests will be able to sing and dance with some of their favorite characters during special performances at select locations in the park, including: Gru and the girls from Despicable Me, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Squarepants and his friends from Bikini Bottom, E.B. from HOP, and of course, Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go!
Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular
A tribute to Universal’s 100 years of film-making, the waterfall screens at Universal Studios Lagoon will showcase highlights of the most dramatic, fun and awe-inspiring moments of Universal Picture’s films. The show, narrated by Morgan Freeman, will take guests on a journey of magical cinematic moments filled with heroes, horror, laughter and wonder.
Both the Cinematic Spectacular and Superstar Parade will run year round, except for during special events. Universal’s Superstar Parade will run daily, and Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular will run nightly. You can find more information about these experiences on the Universal Orlando website.
In addition to these two new exciting experiences, Universal Studios will be opening a brand new attraction this summer – Despicable Me’s Minon Mayhem!
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for summer at Universal Orlando Resort!!
