Are you wondering where Europeans slack off in summers? No! Vacationing for Europeans comes down to a whole lot of exotic destinations in the continent. Ironically, the majority of the tourists are native Europeans.

According to a popular survey, sampling more than 2,000 residents of the UK, conducted by one of the prestigious holiday specialists, Oliver’s Travel sheds lights on the relaxing havens that draw the biggest visitors and their demographics.

For Brits, Leisure-trumps-income is the chief reasoning behind vacationing. As close to 60% Londoners and Scots either take the long-haul to the US or just tour Europe. So much so, vacations spent in their home country account for the largest proportion of all – 19% of Brits place the UK as their top travel getaway.

On the popularity scale, Spain, US, and Italy are admired places that win over millions of tourers from the UK every year. Here’s my list of the top summer destinations for Europeans.

Top 6 Summer Destinations for Europeans

Exploring Rome on My Own With the Carnival Vista

    Rome, Italy

Rome gets flooded with travelers in the month of July, so it’s better to embark a month sooner or later to elude the frenzied crowd. Evenings are pleasantly cooler than the days. Turning up the notch on fun, Englanders head northwards to Florence or Venice for exclusively enticing experiences.

If you’re not running out of time, you should reckon to take off contouring towns of Sorrento, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast. With fewer tourists, these places are amazingly refreshing. Prices normally begin around $160 per night for four-person average accommodation.

2-Day Travel Itinerary for NYC Visitors

New York City, NY, United States

The Big Apple is probably one of the most desired destinations for Brits. Full of diversity and excitement, NYC offers an absolutely iconic sensation – the feeling is genuinely better than the Hollywood depiction of the city. All the five boroughs have a distinctive attraction and identity.

One of the fastest metropolia on the planet, there is always something new to do. The hustle and bustle of the city, satisfies its quintessential reputation – the city that never sleeps. The Brits especially fly intercontinental just to enrich their vacations in America. Average accommodations start from $200 per night.

    Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona richly combines the charm of the Mediterranean and the culture of Europe positioning itself on the list of the most visited cities in the continent. Residents of the city rush out to the north or the west and that leaves the city traffic-free and peaceful to make for the best of experiences.

Due to the mercury reaching 28 degrees Celsius, people resort to the beaches for tanning their skins. A plethora of open-air festivals and events house the tourers for a culturally opulent experience. Remember you should stay indoors in the midday heat.

You can also enjoy yourself in the Siesta with the locals. It begins in the evening and goes on until midnight. Accommodations start from $150 per night.

    Geyser in Iceland

    Reykjavik, Iceland

The magical scenery of Iceland has earned the country an exotic reputation. The landscape is divinely beautiful and the natives are extremely welcoming. Recently, the nightlife in Reykjavik has gained some traction and millennials are flooding to the capital for some eclectic experience.

Apart from clubbing, you could rent a car and take a road trip around the Ring Road to see nature at its best. You will find it hard to grasp but it will certainly carry you away. Due to recent inflationary trends, the capital offers one of the most affordable accommodations. Hotel stays start from $200 per night.

Camping is something fitting for a summer holiday in Iceland. It’s a trip straight out of a movie or maybe not because you’ll never know what to expect, including the weather. Book the most comfortable camper you can find, pack your bags, and say hello to days of fun and sun in Iceland.

    Interlaken, Switzerland

You can witness nature’s most striking appearances in Interlaken. July is one of the wettest months, so take your umbrellas along. The best attractions include the mountain summits of Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch. Cable cars and tourer trains are the means of transport to the zeniths.

Get ready to have the taste of heaven without any doubt. If you still find your desires wandering, choose your next stop, Lucerne. Bet, you are going to admire the gifts of nature. Accommodations start from $200 per night.

    London, England

Only the unfortunates miss out on London while touring the continent. It is not so crowded in July due to the natives hopping elsewhere in Europe. The weather in July is excellent, so chances are high that you will spend most of your time outdoors.

More to the fun is the general decline in prices due to weakening Euro owing to the Brexit vote. Although London is not affected much by the deflation, you can still tour the island at incredibly cheap rates. Bath and York rank as the most favored destinations after London. Accommodations start from $250 per night.
