The Ultimate Safety Training Seminars (STS) Review For 2025

Published: Jul 4, 2025 by Jennifer · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

If you’re looking to provide your staff with training, you’ve probably taken a look at Safety Training Seminars (STS). This outfit is well-known for its CPR and First Aid training, but it also offers a host of additional courses to keep firms compliant and up-to-date.

Safety Training Seminars has been around since 1989 and is well-known throughout California. But is it still firing on all cylinders in 2025?

That’s the topic we broach in this full review and breakdown of what the organization offers. We run through a list of pros and cons, and then finish with our final verdict and whether we recommend it, so don’t forget to read to the end.

What Does Safety Training Seminars (STS) Do?

Safety Training Seminars (STS) is a comprehensive safety training and first aid provider based on the West Coast, with over 70 locations in California. All qualifications it provides are taught by medical professionals and recognized by industry bodies for peace of mind.

STS’s core course is CPR, which it considers a foundational skill everyone should know. This course teaches participants to perform chest compressions and rescue adults, children and infants in need for various reasons.

Paired with this, you can also learn basic life support skills. These are handy for healthcare providers and other people who will remain with patients after the critical period.

Unlike many trainers, STS focuses on some advanced qualifications, which may come in handy. For example, it provides Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), which focuses on managing CPR emergencies, like stroke. Participants learn about things like EGC interpretation and airway management during these episodes.

It also offers Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), which many training providers don’t. This is similar to ACLS but focuses on children’s unique requirements, and is suitable for emergency room cases. General First Aid is also available.

    What We Like About STS

Reading this so far, you’re probably wondering what we like about STS. It turns out that there isn’t just one thing that stands out to us.

    1. Affordability

Perhaps the first thing we noticed about STS was the sheer affordability of its courses. Later, we discovered that pricing was the main differentiator between this service and competitors.

This affordability is surprising when most people first encounter it, but something that makes sense when you understand how the organization operates. It mixes online and in-person learning, and runs a lean operation  that means that it can pass on savings where many firms can’t.

    1. Convenient Schedule And Locations In California

Another perk we like is the fact that STS offers convenient scheduling and locations in California. No matter where you are in the state, you should be able to access its services, simply because it is all over the place.

STS is exceptionally accessible for students, being open on evenings and weekends. And it can provide flexible timetakes, which we appreciated being busy professionals ourselves.

    1. Same-Day Certification

We also liked the fact that STS offers same-day certifications, something that we feel a lot of providers are lacking right now. The ability to collect the required documents after daily sessions means that participants can start using them immediately for compliance or job applications, instead of having to wait.

    1. Positive Reputation

It also didn’t escape our notice that STS has a positive reputation elsewhere (it’s not just us). The organization has already collected thousands of five-star reviews in its 35-year history, giving it more legitimacy than newer, online-only training providers.

    1. Superior Customer Service

Another perk we didn’t expect was the superior customer service you get when you use STS. It provides support from 8 AM until 10 PM even at the weekends, which is almost unheard of for a training provider. The idea is to be as responsive as possible to enhance the student experience and deal with problems quickly.

    1. Blended Learning

Finally, STS offers a blended learning experience, which some students might find helpful. The idea is to do as much learning as possible before the physical sessions to make the most of students’ time with instructors. STS says that this approach is more flexible, and we’d have to agree.

What We Didn’t Like About STS

To be honest, there wasn’t much that we didn’t like about STS. Any problems we had with the service were minor and easily managed.

For example, STS is only available with physical locations in California. If you’re outside of the state, that can make using its services more challenging.

The large number of locations also means that service quality could vary across them. This wasn’t a problem for us or many other reviewers, but it is still a factor to consider if you have staff training from several locations. The experience may not be as consistent as you expect.

Should You Use STS For Safety Training?

Whether you should use STS for safety training is a practical consideration. You’ll want to check that the courses it offers are suitable for your professional and regulatory requirements, and whether it is still running the option you need.

You also want to ensure that you have the budget necessary to make training work. Sometimes, it costs more than you think, even when picking affordable providers.

Finally, you’ll want to check that STS training certification is accepted by the relevant body you use. This can vary from one industry to another, so it is always worth asking.

Final Verdict: Is STS Safety Training Right For You?

We think that STS is a good option for almost any individual or organization looking for formal safety training. The organization provides recognized qualifications and accreditations, which is one of the reasons it has been so successful since its inception in 1989.

What we like the most is the low pricing, which makes it a great option for businesses dealing with high volumes of participants. STS can process people through its systems quickly and without eating too much into your budget. However, you need to be in California to benefit ideally.
