The Peanuts Movie - Dream Big

When I was a child, cable TV and the Internet were still a ways off. We got our news from the daily newspaper. Of course I didn't read it, but I loved the comics! My favorite comic was "Peanuts".  I loved that "Peanuts" gang so much, I even bought their books. These weren't traditional paper comics, but a paperback book that were collections of the comic strips. I had stacks of them.  And then there were the holiday specials! Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, the "Peanuts" specials were TRADITION! My favorite cartoon, brought to life through the magic of animation, and made more special by the fact that they were only on during the holidays. I love that they still show those specials on network TV, and I still watch them, only now I can save them to my DVR (I love technology!). I love sharing that same tradition now with my kids!

Snoopy was always my favorite character, because... Snoopy! How cool is he, am I right?

Everyone can find a Peanuts character to relate to, whether they know it or not (we're looking at you, Pig-Pen...). Perhaps that's what has led to the unbelievable success of the Peanuts franchise, from it's humble beginnings in 1950 to becoming the most popular comic strip in history. So imagine my elation when I heard that the magicians that created the Ice Age films have made a new "Peanuts" movie!

THE PEANUTS MOVIE – IN THEATERS NOVEMBER 6

I'm so excited to see this movie, I can't wait! With a tag line of "Dream Big", I think we can expect some good things to happen for our heroes. I don't know if Charlie Brown will actually get to punt a football or not, but from the trailers and movie description, it looks like Charlie Brown's perseverance finally pays off, in a modern cinematic event that still manages to stay true to Charles Schultz vision. And who knows, maybe Snoopy will even get his revenge on the Red Barron! All in all, it looks like it will make for an awesome family day out at the movies!
