When you open your email inbox and find an invitation for an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to walk the red carpet at the Finding Dory world premiere, your first reaction is…OMG OMG OMG! Then you settle down, respond with a resounding “YES, PLEASE! Thank you so much for inviting me!!” and run to your closet and look for a dress to wear…then watch the Finding Dory trailer over and over again because hello, this is going to be one of the best movies of 2016 and you’ve been waiting 13 years for it!!
If you haven’t seen the Finding Dory trailer yet, please take a look!
It’s so funny, and the movie was completely awesome and hilarious, touching, emotional, adventurous. Sigh. Just like every Disney Pixar movie, it was absolutely perfect.
About Finding Dory
Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale? Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”) and produced by Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), the film features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton.
Okay, back to the super awesome event!
I wore this fun, what I would like to consider reef-inspired dress from Bebe…hey, you can take a Miami girl to LA, but you can’t take the Miami out of her wardrobe!
There were SO MANY people standing outside the El Capitan Theater before the movie began, everyone was so excited to see the movie stars walk the red carpet!
The Finding Dory red carpet was actually blue! I wasn’t too surprised, it just made sense! It was SO EXCITING when Ellen Denegeres arrived, everyone was going crazy screaming her name and taking photos! I didn’t get a very good photo myself, but you can tell it was definitely her!
It was so bright and sunny, I could hardly keep my eyes open for a picture! ha ha!
As we made our way into the El Capitan theater, I bumped into Billy Bob Thorton. OMG.
So, let’s just say this: I love Disney Pixar. I loved Finding Nemo. So perhaps I am biased, but…Finding Dory was freaking amazing. We followed Dory as she searched for family…and watched (and cried a little) as she found determination, hope, and family…I don’t want to give too much away – NO SPOILERS! But this movie had every element that makes a movie great. It was funny, it was sad at times, it was so inspiring and it had a beautiful message: Family is what you make it.
You can check back next week for my full movie review, I don’t want to ruin the surprises for anyone!
I loved watching Finding Dory at the El Capitan, it is so much fun to experience a movie there.
After the movie, we went to the after party, where there were more celebrities hanging out and socializing, playing with their kids – I met John Heder!! I also saw Twitch from So You Think You Can Dance, Billy Bob Thorton, and Tony Hawk!!
We dined on delicious food, played games and listened to a great band perform too!
