The Ice Cream Man Brings All The Kids To The Sidewalk...

Whenever I arrive at the high school before the bell rings, I try to grab a little spot in the grass so that I don't have to circle around and wait until Angeline gets out of school.

One day last week, an ice cream man pulled in after me after I parked across the street...

As I was sitting there complaining on Twitter about my sudden ice cream cravings, the school bell rang and the high schoolers began milling out...

And then I realized why the ice cream man parked there!

Now that is a brilliant marketing strategy...

There are many food carts in my city and I've noticed they love to park by the city high school! They make a killing! Who wants school lunch when you can have bento, Korean sandwiches, Southern Fried chicken or cupcakes?????

Was the title intentionally supposed to sound like the Milkshake lyrics because now that song is in my head.

You don't see as many ice cream trucks as you use too.

Oh, yeah -- when I was teaching, the ice cream man, the churros man, taco trucks ALL parked across the street. Those kids RUSHED out to them every day.

LOL...smart man! I used to wonder why the french fry truck in our town worked such strange hours, and then I realized they were selling french fries to kids in the MORNINGS on their way to school, and catching them again after school. Not too healthy, but good marketing, lol.

      Those magical bells......

We don't really have an ice cream truck that drives around town, but they're usually found near the beaches, etc, over the summer.

Now summer is long gone here in New England. Until next year.
