As many of my longtime readers and social media followers know, I am currently in the midst of a wild love affair with New York City. I have been spending as much time there as possible since December and plan to - hopefully - sell my home in Miami and move there full-time by the end of the year, if not sooner.
The problem with this is that well, firstly, I have to sell my house, which is a pretty big deal and a huge undertaking...but have you seen New York City apartments? Everything in my price range is so much smaller than my current three bedroom home - and all of the over-sized furniture that currently fills it!
One of the first things my daughter, Angeline, and I spoke about when I made the decision to try and live in New York was what I would do with our house and all of the furniture in it...we've lived here for almost 20 years and we've accumulated a lot of things!
CORT Furniture Rental seems like the perfect option for furnishing my new apartment in New York City once I move there! I already know that I won't stay in one place for long - such is the life of a newly-single travel writer!
I spent years furnishing and decorating our home here in Miami...and as fun as it was through the process, I just don't think I will have the time or energy to do all of that again when I settle down in New York. One of the most awesome things about CORT Furniture Rental is that you can rent furniture by the room OR by the piece, and you can have your new place move-in ready when you arrive!
Can you imagine walking through the threshold of your new home and have everything already set up? No moving furniture around, no arranging rooms; you can just walk in and start unpacking your boxes!
There are several different price points available, depending on your budget and your needs. As I usually travel at least 50% of the month, my needs are actually pretty simple, which is one of the reasons why I am looking into an inexpensive apartment in the city to begin with and don't want to invest in expensive new furniture.
Move-In Ready Packages
I went through the Move-In Ready option because that is most likely what I would be using, and it was such a simple process! The package I selected included a bedroom set, living room furniture and dining room furniture. You select the style you prefer at the price point you are comfortable with, and you're told what that package includes. You can even add on things like linens, kitchen accessories, televisions and home decor packages during the ordering process!
You can also select how long you'd like to rent the furniture, beginning with a 12 month lease (which goes in line with most apartment or home leases). I love that the furniture is delivered and even set up for you! I don't think you can get anymore hassle-free than that, can you?
Of course, CORT Furniture Rental isn't just for moving into new apartments. You can also use it to rent furniture for events (hello, housewarming parties!!!), for students moving into new dorms or apartments who don't want to invest in furniture that they know they won't take with them, or for military families who don't want the hassle of having to move their furniture from station to station - they can just rent instead!
Do you have an impending move on the horizon? I'd love to hear about it!
