Take Wi-Fi With You, Wherever You Go With #Chevy4G

When I was growing up, road trips were a big deal. Snacks were the highest priority and what my three sisters and I would do in the car wasn't even a consideration. There weren't any handheld electronics or portable gaming devices for us to play with in the 80's, portable DVD players, MP3 players - none of those were even an option. Keeping people - kids especially - occupied while in the car is important to a driver's (or parent's) sanity. Gone are the days of playing the license plate game!

Whether you're traveling thousands of miles or to the other side of your town, these days it's important to have a strong, reliable data connection! Chevrolet is the first and only car company to bring built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi to cars, trucks, and crossovers. In essence, your vehicle is now a mobile hot spot offering you a fast, stable signal. It is always on after the initial setup is complete, and ready to connect up to seven devices. Phones, tablets, laptops: you name it, there's no waiting for your turn!

Smart devices have taken over and I can't say it's a bad thing. Angeline has had it so much easier than I did as a road-tripping child. What with portable DVD players, her smartphone, laptop and tablets...I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous of how easy it is for her to entertain herself while we make the annual trek to visit my grandparents in North Carolina!

Not to mention, she's not sharing the backseat with anyone, unless we bring a friend. I had three sisters crammed in the back of the station wagon with me. There may have been a few less sibling squabbles had the Internet been available to keep us all occupied on that 12-hour drive!

    Safe Drive

I currently own (well, my husband does, so I do by default) the 2014 Chevrolet SS. It has all the amenities I've come to know and appreciate, though I would love to upgrade or trade-in for the 2015 model to enjoy this newest feature...every time I think about the newer Chevrolet SS model with built-in Wi-Fi, my heart breaks a little and I give Chris the side eye - if only he could have waited just a few more months to buy his new car!

We love the Chevrolet SS, it is Chris's dream car...but I would love it a lot more if it had Wi-Fi!

We do a good amount of traveling and keeping teenagers entertained can sometimes be harder than younger kids! Interactive games, movies, and music streaming are all ways to keep smiles on their faces.

Of course, be sure to keep the technology to passengers. The driver should always wait until the car is parked before hopping on Wi-Fi. Using your smartphone for texting, emailing or checking social media is illegal in the state of Florida (thank goodness!), but even if it is legal in your state, please do not use your smartphone for fun and games while driving!

Years ago, there were many times we would pull the trusty phone book from the glove compartment to try and find somewhere new (or forgotten) to eat. With our smart phones, I can easily connect to the new OnStar 4G LTE to quickly search for restaurants and even get directions on how to get there while Chris is driving. I know with the built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi, I'll have seamless connectivity and we'll be able to find a place without our stomachs rumbling, even when we are in the middle of nowhere and our cell phone signals are weak! The available OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot is the most powerful AT&T built-in data connection - it's even more powerful than your smartphone, with great bandwidth and signal quality.

As a blogger and social media user, a Chevrolet with built-in Wi-Fi would be so beneficial to me because that would mean that I could work on the road while Chris drove, and Angeline napped or played her games or browsed Instagram in the backseat. On a recent family vacation in a very remote area of North Carolina, the hotel Wi-Fi was so weak that it took me 3 hours to get one blog post written...and then I couldn't get back online for the rest of the day.

If we had the 2015 Chevrolet SS with built-in Wi-Fi, I could have whipped out that blog post in no time at all and gone back to having fun with the family!

4G LTE Wi-Fi will soon be available in the following vehicles:

    2015 models

I tell you, this new feature makes me wish I could go trade in my car....

How would Chevrolet's new 4G LTE Wi-Fi make your in car experience better?
Chevrolet is merging the physical freedom of the car with the virtual freedom of Wi-Fi to become the first and only car company to bring built in 4G LTE Wi-Fi to the largest vehicle line-up. Visit http://s.chevy.com/TBX to learn more.

That 2014 Silverado is calling my name, wifi and all. I could really use it when I go to Reno for shopping and I choose to wait outside in the car instead of go into every place the group wants to shop. By the way, I had 2 sisters and 2 brothers in the car with none of the good stuff and we had the sibling rivalry down pat.
