I've been a big Sunsweet fan for years. My parents were, too. My dad was all about the their prunes. These days, Sunsweet is more than just prunes. They have all kinds of delicious dried fruits including two new additions to their Philippine Tropicals lineup - Philippine Mango, Philippine Pineapple, Philippine Green Mango and Thai Coconut Chip.
Sunsweet - So Tasty
The thing about Sunsweet is that their dried fruits are delicious. You know the story. You get some off brand dried fruit at the store, and when you take a bite, it's either bitter, tough, too sweet, or a combination of any of those.
Not so with Sunsweet. Their fruits are filled with one thing - natural, dried goodness. They're great in recipes or just as snacks. In fact, I take them with me on trips, so I can have a quick delicious snack whenever I want one. They're perfect for plane trips or road tripping, and I love mixing a few of the varieties together to make a trail mix type snack. I recently took a bag with me while hiking in the Golden Gate National Park - they made a great hiking snack!
One of my favorite varieties is Philippine Tropicals, and now they've added two more delicious varieties for me to enjoy in my cooking and for snacking. Right now, I'm digging on Sunsweet's two new flavors, Sunsweet: Philippine Green Mango and Sunsweet: Thai Coconut Chips. They are absolutely fantastic!
Green mangos are picked early, just when they start to ripen. That gives them the perfect combination of sweet and tart. They're a little bit like an all natural sweet tart. Mmm-MMMM. The Thai Coconut Chips are crunchy and sweet with a vanilla vibe that is just delicious.
These new Sunsweet Philippine Tropicals flavor help round out a line that already had some delicious selections. Sunsweet Philippine Mango uses Marabella Mangos which are the most sought after in the world. Sunsweet Philippine Pineapple are the perfect combination of juicy and sweet. I love to throw them into my pineapple ice cream. It's a taste sensation!
You can simply mix together a few of the SunSweet Pacific Tropical Vareties with some nuts - I prefer Jordan almonds to play into the "sweet" factor - and you're good to go with a handy snack that the entire family will enjoy, no matter if they're snacking after school or out and about.

My daughter is crazy about dried pineapple. We actually have a whole pantry full of dried fruits and nuts for when I make trail mix!
