As most Miami gals, I love spending time outdoors during the summer. Whether it be in my own backyard pool, South Beach or going down to the Keys, I just love soaking up the Florida sunshine!
I am always looking for new products to help me sunbathe safely and to make my beach-going more pleasurable. As we all know, coming home sunburned and covered in sand is the fastest way to ruin anyone’s day!
I recently came across a new line of organic suncare products at Goddess Garden and knew that I had to try them! They kindly offered to send me a sample package and here is what I received…
I admit, I squealed like a little girl when I opened the package! I received lots of samples, everything from organic SPF 30 sunscreen to adorable bracelets that have ladybugs that turn magenta when it’s time to reapply (my daughter and her friends snatched those up!).
I love the sunscreen. It smells SO good and it works wonderfully. I have been in the pool almost every day this week – I’m throwing a luau Friday and want to look like a sun-kissed goddess, of course! Whereas I would normally start looking a little pink after so much sun exposure, I’m just a slightly golden brown right now.
My favorite part is how wholesome the ingredients are! These are the ingredients for the SPF 30 spray sunscreen:
Zinc Oxide . . . . . . . 6.0% Sunscreen, Titanium Dioxide . . 7.0% Sunscreen, Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera Juice), Organic Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Soy Lecithin, Vegetable Glycerin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan Gum, Organic Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba Wax), Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea) Extract, Organic Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Essential Oil.
Did I mention that is smells delicious?!
I’m in love with this line. I’ve been reading so many things lately about the chemicals in suncare products and the fact that Goddess Gardens is 82% Organic – the highest certified organic content sunscreen available, well, that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! It’s also water resistant and Pediatrician & Dermatologist recommended.
My daughter has agreed to wear it as well, which is a nice change of pace. I usually have to argue with her about wearing her sunscreen. Because this is packaged in a nice spray bottle, it’s super easy for her to apply and she doesn’t end up with those gross, greasy palms that she would normally have after putting on her sunscreen.
The other summer product I am loving right now is Sand Gone. It’s another item that I am just can’t stop using. It was created for us constant beach-goers who don’t really want to take the beach home with us after a day of enjoying the sand and surf.
“SAND GONE is a dry body powder that, when applied to sand covered skin, removes the sand and leaves the skin soft and smooth while feeling fresh and clean.”
And that it does. I even took some pics of my sandy leg to show you!
It really works. Also? It smells delicious. It smells like a cross between Pineapple and Coconut and something floral and sweet. I am not sure exactly how it works, but it definitely helps remove all of the sand. In the last photo, the little bit of white you see is actually the powder, not sand.
Here’s a little info from their site:
The dry, white powder is both non-toxic and non-talc. It also contains a hint of coconut fragrance. Sand Gone is best used when cleaning up while leaving the beach. However, Sand Gone works perfectly well when cleaning up after the sand box, playground or wherever one encounters sand. It is like having a “dry shower” from a jar. In addition to removing the sand, Sand Gone also removes the salt from your skin after a day at the beach. No more uncomfortable “scratchy feeling” under clothing during the drive home.
I’m just completely in love with Sand Gone. And guess what? One lucky Rebel Chick reader is going to get their very own! Contest runs until June 20th at midnight and is open to US residents 18+. I will select a winner via Random.org.
