I remember when I was a little girl, my sister D hated wearing clothes. All of our pictures from around the house when we were kids shows her in her underwear, because my parents simply could not keep her dressed! She said that everything scratched, tickled, hurt...it seems pretty now, but back then, my mother was in tears every time we had to go anywhere because it meant fighting with D to keep her clothing on!

In particular, I remember when we lived in Kentucky, we had a brutal winter - well, it was the only winter I remember ever being cold, so it seems brutal in retrospect - and my mother, little sister and I were heading to the laundromat - in a TAXI CAB because we were pimps like that - and it was snowing...and D was stripping down to her underwear by the time the cabbie turned the meter to on.
