Smart Looks, Smart Prices for Less at Hair Cuttery

I’ve been going to the same salon for ten years. TEN YEARS…

And while I love supporting my local salon, which is family-owned and run, it can be a bit pricey. Would I love to get my hair washed, cut and blow dried every 6 weeks? Yes, I would! Can I afford to pay their $98 charge for doing so? Not a chance.

When I found out that I’d be attending an event at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival this past weekend, I wanted to look my best, but I couldn’t afford to pay nearly $100 (well over $100 if you think about the tip!). I really didn’t want to to show up at an event where I might possibly meet Andrew Zimmern with my hair all a mess, you know? If the opportunity to get my photo with the famous Bizarre Foods host presented itself, I wanted to be ready!

I made a trip to Hair Cuttery for the first time and found out that I could get a same wash, cut and blow dry – plus a flat iron treatment – for just $42.00.

That’s right, FORTY TWO DOLLARS!!

Where has Hair Cuttery been all of my life? Oh that’s right…right down the street. With nearly 900 locations on the East Coast and throughout the Midwest, you are likely to find a Hair Cuttery near you too!

I always just assumed that Hair Cuttery was one of those places that you go for a wash and simple cut, but I was wrong. The list of services they offer was surprising! Hair Cuttery is actually a full-service, value-priced salon that offers premium cuts, styling, coloring, waxing and texturizing services. My local Hair Cuttery even offers Keratin treatments and eyebrow waxing services!

I started off with a wash, and I totally fell in love with the shampoo and conditioner they used. It smelled so good! My stylist pointed out that it contained coconut oil, which is great for dry hair like mine.

Now, my hair was pretty long when I walked in. It might not seem that long in the photo because it’s curly, but once you straighten it out, it’s past the halfway mark down my back. All that hair? It’s a pain. I had split ends, and because it was so long, my curls just never quite came out the way I wanted them too. The longer my hair gets, the harder it is to hold a curl.

So I knew I needed to take a bit off to walk out with healthy, more manageable hair. I told my stylist, Edelmis, to take a few inches off the bottom and give me long layers. I know this style is great for my curly hair and also looks fantastic when I flat iron it, so I couldn’t go wrong!

As you can see, my bangs were getting a little raggedy…I always reach this point where I have to decide whether to let my bangs grow out or trim them and keep them.

I’ve had bangs again for about four years now and I just can’t bring myself to get rid of them! I asked Edelmis to clean them up for me.

As Edelmis got to work blow drying and flat ironing my hair, I just kind of sat and watched. She parted my hair in sections and seriously blow dried the heck out of them so that there would be no moisture left when it was time to use the flat iron. Because I had asked for an extra straightening and iron treatment, she used two special products for my hair that are supposed to help keep out humidity.

I had to buy the Redken Smoothing creme because I liked it so much! She said that I can also use it as a curling creme when I want hold without my hair feeling hard or crunchy!

After about an hour of blow drying and flat ironing my hair, Edelmis was done…and I was thrilled!

Whether you have decided to finally tame the frizzies with a professional Keratin treatment, changing up your look with a radical hairstyle change, hiding all that grey, or want to look polished and pretty for a big event, Hair Cuttery has you covered – for less than you would pay practically anywhere else!

I went home and got ready for my South Beach Wine and Food Festival event with my husband and I felt fantastic!

Super cute, right? I love my new hair style!
