It's that time of year again - back to school season! One of the many ways we parents get our kids ready for the big first day of the new school year is getting them a new haircut, right? Well, now through August 15, every child that gets a new haircut at one of Hair Cuttery’s nearly 900 salons, a free haircut certificate will be donated to a child in need in your local community!! How amazing is that? Think of the children whose parents may not be able to afford a trip to the salon for their big first day of school - this could really brighten a child's day!
Hair Cuttery is the biggest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the United States, so it's no surprise that they are running such an amazing program!
“A new haircut for a special occasion is something we all take for granted,” said Dennis Ratner, Founder and CEO of Hair Cuttery. “Our Share-A- Haircut program ensures that children in our communities aren’t deprived of that simple, but essential, service. If we can send those students back to school with added confidence and a smile on their faces, then This summer, Hair Cuttery is aiming to donate tens of thousands of free haircut certificates ahead of the new school year. Certificates will be distributed with the help of more than 100 local government and non-profit organizations in communities across the country.
I took my nephew, Dakota, to one of our local Hair Cuttery locations for a back to school hair cut just recently. Poor kid, he is at that age where he isn't sure what kind of hair style he wants, so it's been growing long and he was long overdue!
My sister made a decision for him because he just couldn't decide what he wanted done. It was actually a little funny, because I've faced the same dilemma when sitting in a hair stylist's chair at the salon before!
One of the things I love about Hair Cuttery is how quick they are! We were in and out in 30 minutes and on with our day! Those stylists really know what they're doing!
Since 1999, the Share-A- Haircut program has donated more than 1.89 million free haircut certificates valued at nearly $30.35 million. 2016 marks the 17 th year of Share-A- Haircut, with Hair Cuttery’s most recent campaign donating 55,000 haircuts to victims of domestic violence this past spring. The company has an established history of charitable giving and has supported a range of local and national causes, including St. Baldrick’s Foundation, American Red Cross, The National Network to End Domestic Violence, American Cancer Society and Girls on the Run.
