How do you wrap up four fun-filled days with 40 blogging friends aboard the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas? It's hard, I tell you! I attended the Brandcation #SeastheDay complimentary cruise with Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas, so I wanted to really try out everything that the ship had to offer. There were so many things to do on the ship, between a port of call in sunny Cozumel, Mexico, watching an ice skating show, surfing and eating...
I think one of my favorite things was learning how to make a cheeseburger out of cupcakes.
I know, I know, out of all of the incredible activity options, I choose making cupcakes! It was just such a unique experience to have on a cruise ship! There is a little cupcake shop on the Royal Promenade called The Cupcake Cupboard, where you can buy adorable little cupcakes. Aside from offering sweet treats and cupcake-themed trinkets, you can take Cupcake Decorating Classes for a small fee.
Our group was taught how to make Cheeseburger and French Fry cupcakes. I know, I know, it sounds strange, but it's simply using a cupcake and fondant to make what looks like a Cheeseburger!
It was SO MUCH FUN!
We began with two vanilla and one chocolate cupcake, which were so incredibly moist, I couldn't believe it!
The pastry chef led us through each step, showing us exactly how to slice the cupcakes to make different layers of buns and hamburger patty.
We even decorated each layer with frosting to look like drips of ketchup and mustard, then "wilted" our fondant to make it look like lettuce and pulled the edges of our fondant to look like melted cheese.
I have always wanted to take a cake decorating class, but I never imagined I would have the opportunity to do one on a cruise ship! Royal Caribbean certainly offers a variety of indoor activities that I would never think would be available while cruising!
It was such a fun experience to decorate cupcakes with all of my friends, and the fact that we had a master baker leading us along the way? Let's just say that I wouldn't have created such a cupcake masterpiece without his assistance! ha ha!
We were having a little friendly competition on who could build the tallest cupcake...and I came in second.
UGH. The agony of defeat!
That's okay, because my consolation prize was that I got to eat my cupcake!
Keep an eye out while I share more about the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas! In the meantime, I encourage you to check out all that Royal Caribbean has to offer on the Liberty of the Seas, as well as their other cruise ships!
