In every sideways glance, each batting of the eyelashes,
secret smiles are exchanged with a bashful smile…
Each quiet whisper is the beginning – all over again
Heartbeats race, butterflies flicker within nervous stomaches
clammy palms begin to sweat
a deep crimson blush rises on cheeks
hands balled up into tight fists, thrust beneath legs to hide
toes tapping quietly in anticipation
Each moment, so precious
each second together, so fleeting
Life begins in their company, ends with their departure
left waiting in anxious excitement until the next blissful encounter

I am back! Today marks the first day in quite a while that I’ve finished my Write On Edge writing prompt – formerly The Red Dress Club. We were asked to conjure something – a feeling, an object, a person, a season – whatever we wanted, in less than 100 words.
Can you guess what I chose?
