    Relive the 90's With Windows 8 on #IntelTablets #TabletCrew

You know, I am a Generation Xer. I was born in 1978, was a kid in the 80's, but really, when I think back to my childhood, I think of my teen years.

    In the 90's.

I LOVED THE 90's. I loved the movies, the music, the styles - I was born at the perfect time!

You know what happened during the 90's, right?

    THE INTERNET!

While my family couldn't afford a computer back then, I used computers at school and remember when a few of my friends at school began talking about the Internet...only back then, in 1992, they called it the World Wide Web.

    Yes, they really did!

They talked about this place called America Online and how they would go into a online room and talk to other people around the country. I thought they were crazy, who would want to talk to strangers on the computer?

Oh, don't think that the irony has escaped me; here I am 20 years later and what do I do for a living? I talk to people on the computer.

Technology has changed so much since that day in 1992 when my pal Nicole told me about using a chat room on her desktop computer. Who uses desktops anymore? We have laptops and smartphones and of course, tablets. I just received my very first Windows tablet, the Acer Iconia W510, and I am loving it! It has a bit of a learning curve compared to my current smartphone, but I love having all of the power and capabilities of Windows and Intel right in my hand.

As I would have said in the 90's...it's totally awesome.

Oh wait, I still say that!

You can totally relive the 90's using Internet Explorer and Windows 8 on an Intel tablet!

    Check out this video!

I wrote this post as part of the Smart Squad #TabletCrew for #IntelTablets No compensation was received, although I did receive the aforementioned Acer Iconia W510 to review at no cost.

Amazing video. I like the 90's too. These guys have transfiormed so much with Windows 8 and all those apps. I keep wondering if they can do any better. The video though shows it all.

It is so strange to think the internet is such a young creation. It's funny but I have a laptop but my next computer is going to be either an aio or desktop, lol.

Oh I remember it so well. My son was born in 1992, and I went online for the first time too. It was a big year!

I prefer a desktop, because I am way too clumsy (I have gone through 2 laptops, thanks to my clumsiness)! The tablets look pretty neat, though. 🙂

My BFF had AOL and whenever I'd go to her house for a sleepover we'd spend hours in chat rooms. Those were the days!

That's one of the best commercials I've ever seen! I was born in '88 so a couple of the things mentioned were before my time {Pumped up kicks, pogs} but I could not stop laughing at the Oregon Trail reference & the Tamigotchi!!
