Quotes Inspired by My Travels

I'm kind of a dork when it comes to literature, poetry, music and prose.

A friend tweeted today that whenever something bad is happening, he hears a song from The Fray in his head. I tweeted back that I do too! It got me to thinking, it's not just bad things and The Fray.

It's everything.

I relate to lyrics and prose in a way that they suddenly spring into my mind when I am inspired by the beauty of nature.

I thought I'd do something a little different today and share with you some of the photos I've taken while traveling and the quotes about travel that came to mind when I took my photos.

I took this photo while at Maracas Bay Beach in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Truly breath-taking! Beaches always make me wistful and nostalgic. Always. This beach in particular was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.

I took this photo while standing at the edge of Niagara Falls with my daughter. If waterfalls this big don't make you ponder the wonder of miracles, then there's obviously something wrong with you!

My husband and our friend participated in the Warrior Dash in December. As I watched men and women swimming through mud, jumping over fire and generally being pretty bad ass, I thought about this - these chicks were definitely kicking ass.

When I was in Jamaica in October, I had the opportunity to go ziplining over YS Falls as part of our Press tour. I was terrified. I'm afraid of heights AND I get motion sickness very easily. But this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I knew that I had to do it. I did it, and I loved every minute of it - I would have missed out on the thrill of a lifetime if I hadn't forced myself to be brave!

While in Bridgetown, Barbados, I had the opportunity to sit on the beach for an entire day while my husband was at work. I just sat there, and enjoyed the view, the ocean breeze and a couple pina coladas. Sometimes it's just about enjoying where you are...period.
