With three dogs and three cats in our home - plus our outside kitty, Tigger - ticks and fleas are a major area of concern when it comes to pet care. We had a tick problem so bad a few years ago that Foxy and her then-mate, Nanook, literally could not walk outside without ticks jumping on them. It was horrible! Unfortunately, spraying the yard for pests isn't always enough and you have to take steps to prevent infestation on your pets themselves. I am being compensated by PetArmor for my participation in this campaign to tell you all more about protecting your pets with PetArmor as part of the Mom It Forward Blogger Network.

Many are under the impression that ticks, fleas and mosquitoes only come out during the summer. I don't know about where you live, but here in Miami, they are a year-round nuisance! We have to keep our cats and dogs protected all year long to avoid infestation. Even if you don't see the pests, they can still be there, lurking beneath the grass, just waiting to pounce - and bite!

Now, I hate fleas and ticks simply because they're disgusting and they make my skin crawl. But aside from their general creepiness, fleas and ticks are actually pretty dangerous to our pets and to us too!  Ticks carry nasty diseases such as Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever - both of which can be fatal!

Not So Fun Facts About Ticks:

    • The adult stage deer tick begins its feeding activity in early October!
    • Adult stage deer ticks will latch onto any host from a cat to a human, on any day that the temperature is above freezing!
    • Adult female deer ticks can transmit Lyme Disease!
    • Blacklegged ticks also carry Lyme disease. The adult stages of this tick begin to become active as the season changes from summer to fall.

Do you see why ticks totally creep me out?

So what do you do to keep your sweet fur babies - and yourselves - safe from ticks and fleas? Protect them with PetArmor!

    What is PetArmor?

PetArmor is a flea and tick protection available for dogs and cats. It kills fleas and chewing lice, as well as the four major types of ticks, including those that carry the dreaded Lyme disease. PetArmor is available for kittens, cats, puppies and dogs of all sizes - from eight weeks of age and up!

PetArmor comes in super easy-to-use applicators, and not only are they fast-acting but they last a long time too! Each application lasts 30 days, and because PetArmor is waterproof, you don't have to worry about having to reapply treatment when you bathe your pets.

PetArmor contains the same No. 1 vet-recommended active ingredient Fipronil found in Frontline brand products, and provides the same protection against adult fleas and ticks but it costs a lot less! Less expensive, same protection - that's my kind of product! With a houseful of furry pets that are total flea and tick magnets, I need a product that protects my animals but doesn't break the bank.

We've been using PetArmor on all of our cats and dogs for the last month and I am happy to report that we haven't seen a single flea or tick. Sometimes there are side effects with flea and tick treatments, so I always keep an eye on our pets when I give them a new treatment. Neither the cats nor the dogs experiences any side effects from PetArmor - aside from their usual trying to run away when I went to apply it!

We had a flea issue this summer and it was NOT fun! I am so thankful we got it under control. Glad to see you found something that works for you.

Glad your sweet babies are protected against harmful creepy crawlers. It seems especially convenient that application takes place only once every thirty days.
