    disclosure

We have three dogs and until very recently, three cats. People always think that I am crazy for having so many animals, but with only one child, it's pretty easy to manage a houseful of fur babies! Well, that was until we adopted the newest member of the family, Hazel. We have never had an issue with fleas with any of our pets, but Hazel was a stray and was infested with fleas...which meant that all of our other pets caught her fleas before we were able to get them under control. All I can say is thank goodness for PetArmor Plus IGR!

    20140510-164701.jpg

All of our dogs are long haired, so it can be very tricky to get the fleas with a normal flea bath. Hazel is also really long haired and we weren't able to get all of her fleas during her many flea baths!

Unfortunately, she was too young to give any kind of flea medication - we brought her in when she was only four weeks old. So we would wash her, hoping to get all of the fleas...then we would see that all of the pets had fleas again a few days later. She is obsessed with Foxy and is always trying to snuggle with her, and her fleas were apparently jumping ship for fluffier pastures...

    hazel and foxy

It was time to do something serious to handle the problem before fleas took over the house, and that's where Pet Armor Plus IGR came in!

    I have been using PetArmor Plus IGR on Bailey, Toby and Foxy for almost a month now and it seems that we have the flea problem under control now. I can't find any fleas on them and they don't seem to be scratching anymore. {Insert big sigh of relief}

There are so many flea and tick products on the market, and believe me, as a pet owner, I know that the selection of different flea and tick medication can be really overwhelming, especially when you have more than one pet, like we do. We used to give Foxy a certain medication, but it was SO expensive that when we brought Toby and Bailey into the family, we had to find a less expensive alternative. Oddly enough, it never occurred to me to try PetArmor until this post opportunity came along.

You may not realize how easily your pets can become infested with fleas, or how easily that same infestation can spread to your home. While talking to our vet the other day, he told me that a single flea can bite up to 25 times in one hour. Have you ever been bitten by a flea? I have and I can tell you, it sucks! I can't imagine dealing with 25 bites in an hour, every hour...it's enough to make your dogs miserable! Don't even get me started on ticks, just the thought of them makes my skin crawl. Not only are they disgusting, but they can cause Lyme disease in humans!

    Did you know?

The fleas and ticks on your dog are only a small percentage of the number in the animal's environment. Fleas and their eggs can live outside in grass, soil and crevices in sidewalks and live inside in rugs and carpets, floor cracks and bedding.

Fleas and ticks multiply at an alarming rate and can threaten human health as well. Fleas can transmit tapeworms while ticks can carry the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. Getting control of these pests is vital and the solutions are easier than ever with PetArmor Plus IGR for dogs.

    About PetArmor Pet Care Products

PetArmor Plus IGR contains fipronil, the No. 1 veterinarian-recommended active ingredient used in FRONTLINE® brand products. It also contains Novaluron, an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) that kills flea eggs and stops the reinfestation cycle. That is the most important thing (aside from killing fleas themselves) is that it kills flea eggs. Even if you kill all of the fleas during a flea bath or by picking them off with a flea comb, the cycle will begin all over again if you don't kill the eggs too.

PetArmor Plus IGR is available at Walmart and Walmart.com, PetArmor Plus IGR kills adult fleas, ticks, flea eggs and chewing lice and costs less than FRONTLINE® Plus. To learn more, vist www.petarmor.com.

Now, you can't just walk in and grab any box of PetArmor Plus IGR for your pet, and that goes for any kind of medication for your pets - the same is true for humans too!

    Before purchasing PetArmor Plus IGR:

    • Buy the right product for your pet’s species - dogs and cats have different medications.
    • Know your dog’s weight - too little won't work and too much will make them sick!
    • Consider your dog’s age.
    • Don’t split tubes between dogs - one FULL application is needed for each pet!
    • Only apply 30 days following the last flea and tick application.

You can find out more about PetArmor Plus IGR, along with all of the other PetArmor pet care products, at PetArmor.com.

You can also follow PetArmor on Facebook and PetArmor on Twitter to stay up to date on new products and promotions!

You have beautiful fur babies! My Mom has two sweet cats and she just was just saying she needed new flea meds for them. She's always looking for a quality brand that's not going to break the bank. I will definitely recommend this brand to her. Thanks for sharing!

When Fipronil went Generic, a thousand companies popped up to compete with Frontline. If that chemical is present in the flea control, it will work!

What a cute kitty you took in, even if it was covered in fleas! I am so glad you found a way to get rid of your flea infestation and keep it gone. I will be looking into this brand of flea protection for my fur babies.

Oh what beautiful furbabies! I too have a few! 3 dogs and a cat so this is something I'll be looking into as I'm not too impressed with what we've had in the past, they've worked but can be costly!

We have a rat terrier (Pepper) and a boxer (Izzy) and we live out in the country. We're always worrying about fleas and ticks. I agree, killing the flea eggs is very important or it's just a never ending circle. I was really hoping that our big cold winter would cut back on all the bugs this year, but I hear the ticks are already horrible.

I love all of your fur babies! How adorable and the little cat is so sweet. I have dogs and I always am proactive when it comes to flea treatment too. This sounds like a good product and one to check out.

Glad you found something that works for your fur babies (that you can use it on). We had one cat growing up that had fleas and it wasn't fun at all.

Your fur-babies are too cute, especially the cat in the first pic. I think it's so important to protect our pets. You looks like you have very happy, and well protected fur-babies.

Fleas are the WORST! We just have on dog, and she is a short hair - but we live in a highly wooded/sandy/swampy area on a lake and the fleas are a nightmare! We have to use good products or they will over run our house.

We don't have any fur babies currently. I do remember how quickly the fleas would seem to multiply though. I felt so bad.
