My house is quiet once again...however, my house is now filthy, all of our towels are dirty, and our cupboards are bare. I'd say it was a pretty good weekend for my daughter. Now comes the time when I get things back to normal!
Its going to be quite a busy week for us. She returned from summer camp Friday night and we haven't even begun the unpacking of her foot locker and two duffel bags...she leaves again next week to visit her aunt and I have to unpack, launder and repack...we also need to go shopping for a dress and shoes to wear to my grandmother's memorial service for this week and her uncle's wedding next week. I have a laser hair removal appointment Wednesday. We have the memorial service Thursday, after which everyone is coming back to my home for the refreshments - my parent's church was only able to provide the church for an hour and a half, so that wouldn't have given us enough time.
So, cleaning is going to be a huge part of my week. I'm feeling groggy just thinking about it...and the menu planning...ugh...there's no telling how many people will be coming back to my house. I am thrilled at the opportunity to be of help and offer my home for the reception, as its one of the bigger homes in my family, but its a little daunting, not knowing how many people will be joining us. I would really like to take care of most of the refreshments so that my mother can just concentrate on the service and getting things in order for the memorial.
Let's suffice it to say that my Roomba is going to be working overtime this week and I will probably run out of Swifter Dusters! Oh, and watch out Costco, because here I come...
