I love shopping. I love walking into a store and seeing a rainbow of colors before me, the glittering of housewares, the smell of new leather in the shoe department...really, what's not to like about going shopping? Shopping = endless possibilities!
There are so many awesome little shops in Miami, and it's quite difficult to choose a favorite. I prefer to shop at small businesses - as a small business owner myself, I know firsthand how crucial every customer is to an independently-owned business!
I love Cauley Square, a historic little village of shops and restaurants not too far from where I live. There's a sweet little store called O'Sew Crafty where local artisans sell their handmade arts and crafts. It's run by a mom and her daughter, and they always recognize me when I pay them a visit. It's nice to walk into a store and know that you've seen the same person behind the counter since you were a little girl - and now you're bringing your own little girl with you! Well, Angeline isn't so little anymore, but you get my point.
I love shopping there, especially at Christmastime! I buy so many adorable handcrafted ornaments, and have been buying Christmas and baby shower gifts there for years.
If only O'Sew Crafty had a website!
If they had a website, I could check in and see when they brought in new items, and maybe even order stuff online instead of paying a visit to the store itself. Everyone could buy their adorable crafty items if they had a website, not just us local Miami peeps in the know. Because Cauley Square is kind of a little best-kept secret in Miami, not many people know about it, let alone know about O'Sew Crafty!
I am totally nominating O'Sew Crafty in the Go Daddy No WebSitis contest!
Go Daddy No WebSitis Contest
Ten small businesses will win a one year .COM, .NET or .ORG domain registration and a one year Premium Website Builder plan and special assistance building their site. If your nominee wins, you'll win a $50 Visa gift card!
How It Works
Just nominate your favorite small business through June 24, 2013. You can even nominate your own business! Tell them why the small business you love deserves to have their own awesome website. You can even make it personal by adding photos to give a “face” to your favorite biz. Tell your friends, family, customers and clients to vote for your business from June 25 – July 15, 2013. The ten businesses with the most votes will win when the contest ends on July 15th, 2013.
Prize Eligibility: Only small businesses with a U.S. address & fewer than 50 employees are eligible to win.
Official Rules can be found here. Of course, if you're reading this and don't want to wait around to have your business nominated and find out if you win, you can just get to work setting up a website super easily with the Website Builder 7.0 from Go Daddy! When I first started out in 2010, I used Go Daddy, so I know firsthand how easy Go Daddy makes setting up a business website! Check out this video for a little more information.
