When I began packing for my recent Carnival cruise through the Mediterranean, I wasn’t quite sure what to pack. I knew that I would want to do some shopping…okay, A LOT of shopping! I had originally packed enough clothing to get me through 14 days and nights, with shoes and accessories to match my outfits. Then I unpacked, repacked, unpacked and repacked again.
I knew it would be hot, so I brought mostly sundresses, shorts and tank tops. I practically live in sundresses in Miami, and it was even hotter in Venice and Rome than it is back home! Light, airy dresses were perfect for those sweltering days walking around Rome. I think I would have died if I’d packed jeans!
I bought this new Coach purse a few months ago to use during my summer travels, and I’ve been bringing it everywhere. It’s perfect for travel because you can wear it as a cross-body bag, and it’s big enough to hold my DSLR, passport, phone and even a water bottle! The long strap also comes off and you can just use the handles too, so it’s pretty versatile.
I rarely bring along my laptop when traveling because with my iPad 2, I can do everything I would normally do on the laptop! It’s so much lighter and just more convenient to carry in my tote bag, and I can even bring it along when I am out and about. Of course, the iPad 2 alone can’t do everything, and who likes to type up blog posts on that touch screen? The accessories that I’ve found to be most useful for blogging while traveling are the Zaggfolio Keyboard Case and the Apple Camera Adapter.
I ended up bringing most of the same things I’d taken on my Caribbean cruise – included lots of Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen and tanning oil. Angeline and I both love to tan, and spending 9 days on a cruise ship meant lots of pool time! And of course, we were going to be out and about during the hottest part of the summer, so of course we were going to get some sun!
Schick and Hawaiian Tropic were nice enough to send me a package of samples to use during the summer, so we got to try out the new Schick Xtreme3 razors that are scented with Hawaiian Tropic too! For disposable razors, they were actually pretty great. The Schick Xtreme3 has three high-quality blades that flex and pivot for a close, comfortable shave. We had a four pack, and they lasted both Angeline and I for the entire two weeks that we traveled in Europe.
Now, Hawaiian Tropic is my favorite suntan lotion, I just love their scents. So I had already stocked up on a few different bottles before our cruise in June. I received the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Clear Mist Spray, which is great for back coverage – which is usually where I get burnt because I can never reach it all! It moisturizes and protects with a lovely summery scent. One of the products I received was the new Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun, which is supposed to soothe and moisturize skin to keep it hydrated after a day in the sun. I loved it! It kind of served two purposes: it served as our body cream after showering and also kind of served as perfume because it smelled so pretty!
