You never truly realize how comforting it is to carry a baby inside your womb until suddenly they're born into this big scary world - where anything can happen. They're no longer safely tucked inside your protective nest where you can monitor their heart rate, prod them and feel them move at any time. I still remember the first night I slept without my child as being one of the longest of my life. I was constantly waking at any little noise, or sometimes because there was no noise at all. Thankfully Angeline is now a walking, talking teenager and I no longer have to worry about those things (there are a host of other things to worry about instead!).
Now the torch has been passed onto my sister, not only does she have my Cooper but she's also currently pregnant with twins! TWINS, y'all!
The poor woman needs all the help she can get monitoring a precocious almost-one year old and two impending arrivals, which is why I gave her the Mimo Smart Baby Monitor, available at Babies R Us for $199.
Unlike traditional baby monitors that only allow you to put eyes and ears on the baby, the Mimo Smart Baby Monitor offers a complete insight hub (via the companion iOS or Android app) for your baby as they sleep. Or in Cooper's case, also while he's supposed to be sleeping. The kid fights sleep like it's his mortal enemy.
It wirelessly sends the baby's breathing, body position, skin temperature and sleep quality via low energy Bluetooth to a parent’s smart device along with live audio. The monitor will also allow you to track diaper changes, feedings and more. Plus, parents can also share the information with as many caregivers as they like - which is perfect for those times when Grandma Tamie or Aunt Angeline comes to watch them!
So how can one monitor do so much? By using the in the technology revolution - wearable tech! The soft, kimono-style onesies are made from organic cotton for comfort and all sensors, including the turtle, rest on top of the fabric to avoid irritating baby's sensitive skin. Isn't it cute? I love that it's a kimono style onesie, because Cooper is not fond of having clothing placed over his head - this is perfect because it just wraps right around him!
Mimo kimonos come in four 100% cotton colors, are completely machine washable (because who really has time for handwashing with babies?!) and are available in different sizes so that my sister can use them to monitor Cooper and it will grow with the twins!
Parents can also share the information with as many caregivers as they like. You can also use the monitor to track diaper changes, feedings and more to help provide consistent care for your little one across different caretakers.
The monitor is available at Babies R Us for $199.

That is such a great monitor. I have THREE sisters in law who all just had babies within the last 3 months, so I will tell them about this.

What!? That's so cool! I love this idea. They need to make it for older kids too. 😉

Companies didn't make things this cool when mine were babies. Seeing that little one really makes me miss that stage with my kids.

This looks really good to have. I have 3 kids and our youngest is almost 7 months old. I am constantly checking on him before i go to bed at midnight so this would be very helpful to have.

I am so happy to see this in use, I saw it as a test model several years ago! I had 2 babies with respiratory issues at birth and this would have been huge for putting my mind at ease those first few weeks home!

Watching babies sleep to ensure they're breathing is something I'm totally guilty of. I would have loved this when my babies were little. So reassuring!

Whoa, technology is the coolest! This is pretty darn awesome for peace of mind.

That is so amazing! I wish I would have had it with my younger one, he had a rough start and was in the NICU so after that I watched him like a hawk. I may have to get this for my friend who is expecting!

Your baby is adorable!! I wish they had these types of stuff when my older kids were born.

This monitor really has it all! I love the sensor on it because it's hard not to be paranoid about your infant's safety and this gives you peace of mind!
