I received compensation for sharing my original Lactaid post, as well as this follow up post introducing Melissa d’Arabian’s recipe, but all opinions are my own!
Did you happen to catch Melissa d’Arabian’s appearance on the TODAY Show on June 24th? She made a delicious looking Chicken with a creamy, lactose-free mushroom sauce using Lactaid!
As I explain in this post last month, both Chris and Angeline are slightly lactose intolerant. They can drink regular milk and dairy products, but only in small doses before it upsets their stomachs. Angeline can never drink an entire milkshake or smoothie made with regular milk without being sick the rest of the day, and my macaroni and cheese recipe often makes Chris very unhappy with me!
Using Lactaid helps with that problem, and it’s especially delightful in milkshakes and smoothies (or really, any dessert recipe) because it’s a little sweeter than regular milk!
While I’ve been traveling the past few weeks, I didn’t have time to whip up my own recipe using Lactaid, but I’d love for you to check out Melissa d’Arabian’s recipe! She’s a professional and I’m certain that her dish is tastier than anything I could have cooked up!

Once I return home from Nort Carolina, I’ll be sharing a recipe for a delicious summertime smoothie that uses Lactaid instead of milk. Keep your eyes out, because it’s one of our very favorite smoothie recipes, with peaches and strawberries!
I have been seeing a lot of Lactaid recipes lately and I have to say they look really good! Looking forward to yours.
I’ve never cooked with lactaid. I’ll have to check out her recipe.
Can’t wait to check out the smoothie!
