When I began blogging in 2010, I never in a million years thought that I would turn my budding hobby into a full-time business. When people ask me how I began blogging, I always laugh because the truth is, I'm not exactly sure how Rebel Chick transitioned from a hobby blog full of poems and photos of my family into what it has become...it was a slow, steady evolution and sometimes I sit down and open WordPress and think to myself, "I can't believe this is my job."
Now, don't get me wrong, it's a job that I love with all my heart, but it's a job nonetheless. That means that it entails long hours, a lot of multitasking, and vacations are few are far between. I've become so busy lately that with my upcoming summer travels, I knew that I needed to take that step that all small businesses must take when they reach the next level, so to speak.
I hired an employee.
Shana is a dear friend who also happens to be a pretty fantastic blogger, and I knew that she was just the right gal to bring on board to help The Rebel Chick continue to run smoothly!
Shana will be assisting me with every day blogging tasks as well as contributing reviews for super fun kid-friendly products that my own teenage daughter, Angeline, has long outgrown.
Meet Shana!
What's up everyone? My name is Shana, and I'm the head butt-kicker-in-charge at Shanamama.com, where I write about life's everyday randomness, sharing my stories of family life, recipes, pictures, and more.
Even though I was born and raised sunny Southern California, it never felt truly like home. In 2011, we packed up our family and made an insane move to the good ole Okie State, OOOOk-lahoma. (Yes, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain.)
I like to view myself as a typical stay-at-home-mom, but with a twist, and the twist varies - whether it be the color of my hair, my twisted sense of humor, my semi foul-mouth (I have no filter, ahem) or my general outlook on life. I like to make things fun around here, making sure I never feel like the glass is half empty.
Laughter is the recipe of life & I enjoy bringing smiles to everyone, especially my kids.
I'm "that mom" that has been known to chase my kids around the house, just so I could tackle them and tickle them until we are both crying from laughing so hard. I feel my children's laughs are the awesomest thing ever, so I feel it's my duty to bring out those laughs as often as I can so I can help the world be more awesome. Word.
If I'm not chasing after my kids or drinking coffee by the gallon, you may find me behind the lens of my camera playing paparazzi, or whipping up exciting new recipes in the kitchen.

As you can see, Shana's philosophy on life closely mirrors my own, and I think she's going to be a great addition to The Rebel Chick!
Say Hi and make Shana feel at home!

I have been wanting to add a writer for awhile (too many sites, too little time), but don't want many reviews on the sites, so I'd need to work out a payment or revenue share for contributed posts I guess.
Theresa
