Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Hits Theaters 9/18 #ScorchTrials

As MAZE RUNNER: The Scorch Trials heads to theaters on September 18th, I find myself thinking about my own recent adventures...

Last year I took my first trip across the world...all the way to South Africa! I had traveled outside the US a few times but this was an entirely new experience for my daughter and I (yes, of course I took Angeline with me!)! On this trip, I would not only be traveling to the continent of Africa for the very first time - with my child in tow, but I would be doing so ON MY OWN. Without a press trip, without a tour guide...completely on my own. As much as I travel, something about going to Africa on my own made me nervous. Yes, I won't lie - I was nervous!

I was both thrilled and terrified as my departure date loomed before me. I spent weeks preparing, going over my packing lists, ordering supplies and researching the areas where we would be staying. I took Angeline with me to get shots JUST IN CASE we came into contact with communicable diseases, making photo copies of our passports and IDs, researching tours and activities to do in each area, downloading movies, music and photo editing programs on every electronic mobile device we owned to keep us entertained during our incredibly long flights...I have never put so much effort into preparing for a trip before, and it totally paid off because we were absolutely, 100% prepared for everything we encountered while in South Africa!

I can only assume that Thomas and his fellow Gladers would have loved to have had the same luxury of preparation, supplies and research in the next chapter of the epic "Maze Runner" saga!

The Maze was just the beginning. In The Scorch Trials Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD.

Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all!
