A few weeks ago, I told you guys about the UPS #WishesDelivered Holiday Campaign, in which UPS is donating $1 to a charity for every wish shared on Instagram and Twitter using the #WishesDelivered hashtag. UPS has partnered with Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army and the Boys and Girls Club for this special holiday campaign and I can't think of organizations that are more helpful to people through the holiday season!
Have you made your wish yet? I made one!
After a day at the Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples, Florida earlier this fall, I fell in love with the organization. They are a small non-profit that rescues wolves and wolf-dogs, as well as other animals that are in need of rescue, like the endangered Florida Panther featured in my Instagram photo.
The Shy Wolf Sanctuary is entirely volunteer-run and rely on donations to cover the expenses of maintaining the sanctuary, feeding the animals and providing medicare care.
My wish is that they had access to a larger plot of land, or help creating more enclosures. While every enclosure we visited was in good order and the animals were well cared for, these are for the most part wild animals and as you can imagine, they would do well to have larger spaces. This sanctuary does so much good - and they would be able to help so many more animals if they had the space!
Many of the animals that are rescued by the Shy Wolf Sanctuary are the former "pets" of private owners and because they are wolves or wolf-dogs, they have not received regular veterinary care. When they come into the Shy Wolf Sanctuary, they often have a host of ailments, which requires costly medical treatment.
You can learn more about the Shy Wolf Sanctuary here, and donations are always welcome!
If you are in the Naples area, you can plan a visit to the Shy Wolf Sanctuary to get a first hand look at this amazing organization in person. You can even meet some of the animals there, as many of the wolves and wolf-dogs have been socialized since birth and are friendly towards humans (this is especially true of the wolf-dogs with very low wolf content).
Perhaps you'd even like to volunteer there yourself!
When I shared my wish on social media with the #WishesDelivered hashtag, UPS donated $1 to a charity in need. How wonderful is that?
With every wish submitted on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #WishesDelivered between now and December 31, 2014, UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners - Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, or Toys for Tots - for up to a total of $100,000! This is such an awesome way to spread a little holiday cheer and ensure that these charities receive funding during one of the most important times of the year.
How to Participate in the #WishesDelivered Campaign
Simply post your wish to Twitter and Instagram using the #WishesDelivered hashtag and your wishes are automatically submitted! You can also go straight to the #WishesDelivered site and submit your wish there.
Keep in mind that these wishes should revolve around helping others. Maybe your wish is on the global scale, like ending world hunger or for wounded warriors to have a successful transition into civilian life. Or maybe you know a school that could use a new playground, a local homeless shelter that could use new beds, or a local organization in desperate need of volunteers.
Whatever your wish, this is an easy way to give this Holiday season. Use this unique opportunity to share your wish for someone else and help charities receive necessary donations so they can in turn make those wishes a reality!

That's awesome that they are giving donations out this year. I love the wolves. I had a half wolf mix when I was a kid, one of the best dogs ever.

My cousins little girl had brain cancer. It started about 6 years ago when she was 4. She has had to have a few more surgeries and is in remission again. When she was first diagnosed she did Make a Wish and they went to Disney to meet the princesses. We're very fond of that organization in my family.

I love when companies give back like this. It makes me want to ship with UPS this holiday season.

I love that these animals have a safe home! Non-profit sanctuaries always have their animals in the best condition since they're not used to make money! Also that panther looks like it's striking a pose.

The pictures are all great, but I love the one with the Wolf! So cool! And it's great to hear that UPS is giving back as right now their beta testing of this access point program where they are now allowed to not even make one delivery attempt if they miss you is driving me nuts!

What a blessing to have such a sanctuary there for those animals. I love that UPS is working with Toys to Tots because one of my wishes is that every child have a present to open on Christmas morning. Kudos to UPS

WOW! I had never heard of this sanctuary. I can tell those volunteers really LOVE the animals they work tirelessly to save. Thank you for sharing their story. And to UPS? Thank you SO much for donating to such amazing charities. I love what Salvation Army does. As a kid we couldn't afford school supplies and Salvation Army gave my family a backpack of supplies. I'll never forget that.

I know a woman who advocates tirelessly for wolves. I wonder if she's heard of this? Sending her the link. I know she'll find this whole post a good read.

I like companies who step up and at least do something. Rather an unusual project they chose, but one that needs funding.
