Whether I'm expecting something and giddy with anticipation or just out-of-the-blue surprised with a gift, packages showing up at my door still excite me! It's much like seeing prettily-wrapped gifts during the holidays. Over the years, with the increasing convenience of online shopping, I have found that I am on a first name basis with my UPS driver - he even knows my dog's names!

    UPS

I remember receiving packages from our extended family out of state when I was a child and it was always fun to have my parents hand me something and say, "This came for you!" My favorite part about the holidays is finding the perfect gift for each person on my list. I truly love watching their eyes light up when they unwrap my gift! Of course, sometimes that isn't possible when I send a gift to a different part of the country, but still hearing about their joy is enough to bring a smile to my face - especially if they send a photo along on social media!

    Holiday gifts

The holidays to me are all about giving and every package that shows up on a doorstep across the country started with a wish. From early in the morning to late into the evening, UPS employees work tirelessly to ensure that those wishes are delivered.

This holiday season, UPS has created a way to share magical stories and deliver real wishes! With every wish submitted on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #WishesDelivered  between November 10 and December 31, 2014, UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners (Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, or Toys for Tots), up to $100,000!  This is a fantastic way to embrace the whimsy of the holiday season and help a charity in need.

How to Submit a #WishesDelivered Entry to UPS

Simply post your wish to Twitter and Instagram using the #WishesDelivered hashtag and your wishes are automatically submitted! You can also go straight to http://ups.com/wishes and submit your wish there.

Keep in mind that these wishes should revolve around helping others. Maybe your wish is on the global scale, like ending world hunger or for wounded warriors to have a successful transition into civilian life. Or maybe you know a school that could use a new playground, a local homeless shelter that could use new beds, or a local organization in desperate need of volunteers.

Whatever your wish, this is an easy way to give this Holiday season. Use this unique opportunity to share your wish for someone else and help charities receive necessary donations so they can in turn make those wishes a reality!

    What’s your wish?

My wish is for programs like this to never be needed again. It's so sad that there are hungry, needy families in this world. I wish this could be totally eradicated.

WOW!!! That is fantastic! My current wish is for a friend who is battling cancer and on disability to be able to earn the money he needs to make it to his custody hearing so he can maintain a relationship with his son. I am off to tweet right now!
