With summer quickly approaching – we only have 3 weeks left of school here in Miami – it’s time to firm up those summer vacation plans. We’re pretty lucky in that we only have to worry about making one child happy, and Angeline is a pretty go-with-the-flow kid. She’s so used to traveling with us and really enjoys a variety of activities.
I realize that not every family is a fortunate as we are, and summer vacation plans can become a point of contention within a family…so why not avoid that inevitable argument and make everyone happy with a trip somwhere that is sure to please the whole family?
Yeah, I’m talking about Missouri!
I’d love to take my entire family to Missouri this summer – there’s truly something for all of us! Chris loves to go fishing, and Missouri has thousands of hunting and fishing spots! Angeline and I both love animals and the outdoors, and it just so happens that Missouri has a total of 51 state parks!
Of course there are things that we could do as a family that we would all love – like one of the nine zipline courses in the state!
While looking into all of the things to do in Missouri, I came up with a super fun itinerary for a future trip:
- Since there are there amusement parks and plenty of waterparks in Missouri, we’d have to visit at least one! You can’t do summer vacation without visiting a waterpark, right?
- While Angeline is chilling by the hotel pool, I’d take Chris along to visit one of Missouri’s 100 wineries. I had no idea that Missouri had so many wineries and that they are actually one of the oldest wine-producing states in the U.S.!
- We’d take a day and see exactly why Missouri is called “The Cave State” and pack a picnic lunch and go explore a cave. That’s not something we find in Florida!
- Being a Miami girl, I love the water, so I’d love to wind down my trip with a visit to the Lake of the Ozarks. With more miles of shoreline than California, I can’t think of a better way to end a vacation than relaxing on a sandy beach!
