I’m writing this post while participating in the Share The Joys of Life blogging prompt from Skimbaco Lifestyle.

There were 4500 bloggers at the BlogHer conference in New York City this past weekend. I was one of them.
It was my first time at BlogHer and in the week or two leading up to the conference, I was nervous…maybe even a little scared.
But, hey, you only live once, right?
I strolled along 5th avenue with friends. I met my aunt and cousin who happened to be in town the same time I was, and we walked to Times Square.
I ate street food and I ate delicious catered food at private events. I spent $50 on a filet minon at a 5 star restaurant.
I met online friends that I’ve known for ages but never met in person. I connected with people who inspire me on a daily basis.
I drank champagne and danced with Transformers.
I walked and walked and walked – and took the subway – until my feet hurt, my legs were sore and the soles of my lovely sandals wore thin.
I had the time of my life in New York City, partly because hell, it was New York City, and partly because I was surrounded by chicks who totally got what I was doing. I have no local blogger friends, and while my friends and family are incredibly supportive of the new path I’ve taken in life, no one locally really gets it.
No one, save these blogging gals I met in New York City.
In what other social avenue can you fly to New York City and share a hotel room with a total stranger for a weekend? Outside of the blogging world, that sort of thing doesn’t happen very often.
It’s exciting, it’s nerve-wracking, it’s fun.
It is an adventure.
I spent 4 days in New York City for BlogHer and I loved every single second of it.
Travel, experiences, time with friends…I wanted to share this joy with you all!
S0 happy that I saw you there… hopefully well bump into each other soon.
I wish I had been able to meet you!! Next year we’ll have our own meetup 😉
What great fun!
Sounds like you had such a great time.
I was sad to miss it this year- glad you had a blast, though!
I think of all the things I’ve read about the BlogHer experience… yours is the best. You can tell you really appreciated the experience!
I loved it, but I REALLY regret not meeting you!
Sound like you had fun!
This past weekend was a blast. Glad we got to meet in person and hopefully next time I will get to spend more time with you. 🙂
That sounds like such a fun trip!
It was great meeting you there.
Gosh it was fun wasn’t it. And next time, bangs or no bangs, straight hair or curly hair, I’m tackling you with a huge hug as soon as I see you! 🙂 Thanks for chatting with me for so long, and come back to Colorado!
Ha ha ha I am going to change all of my avatars for my social media to show a side by side of me with straight hair with bangs vs curly hair with bangs pulled back. 🙂
I’m so happy we got to meet, even just for a few minutes 🙂
I thought you wrote that you danced with transgenders (and that would work and be fun too). Love your two photos, they scream NYC!
