This summer Walt Disney Studios treats audiences to two heartwarming and hilarious animated comedies about bringing friends and family together even when they seem worlds apart in one fun “Lilo and Stitch” 2-movie collection.Available June 11, 2013 for the first time on Blu-ray with perfect picture and sound, the “Lilo & Stitch” and “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch” movies are hours of fantastic fun in one incredible collection! The 3-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack includes both feature films on one Blu-ray disc plus each film on individual DVDs. I received a media copy of this awesome Lilo & Stitch 3 Disc Special Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack in exchange for my honest review.

Disney's Lilo & Stitch is a heartwarming tale about a young girl who has suffered the recent death of her parents and the relationship she develops with an extraterrestrial creature. The movie features colorful and friendly animation and a fun soundtrack that includes several tracks by Elvis Presley.

Lilo & stitch 3 disc special edition blu-ray combo pack

Known as 626, a furry, aggressive genetic experiment manages to escape the confinement of his cell on a spaceship and travels unknowingly to Earth. He lands on a Hawaiian Island where he is mistakenly placed in a dog shelter. However, it isn't long before he is adopted by Nani for her little sister Lilo. The sisters (both natives of the island) have recently lost their parents in an automobile accident. Nani struggles with social workers who want to place Lilo in foster care. As she doesn't have any friends, Nani allows her little sister to have a dog for companionship.

A friendship quickly develops as Lilo soon realizes that her "dog" which she names Stitch, is quite unique. To tame Stitch of his aggressive behavior, young Lilo attempts to mold her new friend into a proper pet by introducing him to Elvis Presley music and reading him the book The Ugly Duckling. Unfortunately Stitch's hijinx make life difficult for his new family, and are noticed by his home planet, as attempts to recapture him are set forth. Lilo and Stitch's friendship is put to the ultimate test in the climax of the film.

We've watched Lilo & Stitch a ton of times and it never fails to make us laugh and cry. Lilo & Stitch is fun for all ages, whether it's your children or you and your spouse watching, you're sure to love it! It is an imaginative story that brings to focus the themes of family, loss, sacrifice for friendship and hope. Not only does Lilo & Stitch immerse you in the Hawaiian culture, but this Disney movie is unique in that it mixes the fantasy of extraterrestrial life forms and real life problems and joys that we can all relate to!

One of the things I love most about Disney is that the sequels are usually just as funny and heart-warming as the originals. Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch was one of those sequels!

As Stitch  settles into life with his human family it appears his molecular makeup is out of whack and his friendship with Lilo is threatened as a result. Lilo and her friends must find a way to restore his “goodness” level before he ruins everything, including Lilo’s big hula competition – the same competition her mother won years before.

Feature Run Times - Lilo and Stitch: 85 minutes / Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch: 68 minutes

    Where to Buy: Disney.com

    MSRP: 3-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack: Blu-ray + 2 DVDs - $29.99 U.S. and $35.99 Canada

We already own both movies, but they're all scratched up because of my girls. Unfortunately, we don't own a blu-ray player.
