Have you ever heard of the term "The Swiffer Effect?" Well, until recently I had never heard of it either...but all of that changed when I hopped on a plane to visit the P&G Headquarters in Cincinnati last month to embrace my inner Swiffer Fanatic as a paid Swiffer Ambassador!
What is the Swiffer Effect?
The Swiffer Effect is basically what happens when you free up time and energy after you use Swiffer products. Instead of spending all day dusting, sweeping and mopping the house, use Swiffer products (sweepers, the Swiffer Wet Jet and Dusters) to tackles those tedious jobs to get them done FAST and EASY. Why spend unnecessary time cleaning when you could be doing other things?
Like playing with your cute cats that made most of that mess in the first place?
I am a pretty neat and tidy person; I don't like clutter, I prefer a clean house...but you see, I live with a teenage girl. And two dogs. And FIVE cats.
It doesn't matter how neat and tidy I am because every other life form in my home is a living breathing DUST and HAIR machine. Seriously, guys. You don't even want to know about the dust bunnies that I find behind my bedroom door when I get back from a week-long trip.
Sure, we could pull out the Endust and the old rags, the feather duster and the vacuum and the mop and bucket (and sometimes I do, don't get me wrong) - but when you have to do these tasks on a daily basis, you quickly realize that you're wasting time doing it the old fashioned way. Modern technology advances for a reason: to make our lives easier. When Swiffer hit the market in 1999, it was like the dawn of a new era. I fully embrace it and if a Swiffer product can handle the job - and it usually can - I am all about whipping out the Swiffer and leaving the clunky old vacuum in the spare bedroom.
Discover the Joy of Swiffering
What do you hate doing around the house? For me, it's dusting. I HATE DUSTING. HATE it. Between the dogs and cats, I see not just a lot of pet fur settling onto every surface in the house, but dander too! We have an air purifer in the living room that does help a little, but even so, I need to dust at least twice a week to keep the surfaces clean. Instead of bringing out the furniture polish and dust rags, I just lighting brush a Swiffer Duster over the surfaces in my home several times a week. It's so much eaiser than what I'll refer to as "conventional dusting" because everything sticks to it!
Speaking of sticking to it - I am sure that you've seen a ton of store brand products that resemble Swiffer products - I know that I've seen my fair share, and even tried one or two because I thought I'd save money! Well, there's a reason Swiffer is a household brand and those generic brands aren't - Swiffer actually works.
Have you ever tried one of the generic brands? As I said, I have given a few of them a try, and they never work as well as Swiffer (or smell as good). So much research and development goes into the design of the Swiffer products, the formulas for the cleansing agents - I think all of this really makes them the best on the market.
While in Cincinnati, we teamed up and spread a little Swiffer love around the city. It was incredibly fun - we were able to deliver green boxes of Swiffer products and you wouldn't believe how excited people were to receive them! We paid a visit to the Habitat for Humanity of Cincinnati and made a video congratulating a family on their new home - and explained how Swiffer products would make keeping that new home a little easier!
We even showed moms and their kids the "proper" way to use a Swiffer sweeper.
Yes, there is a correct way to use it! Instead of pushing the Swiffer sweeper straight forward, use a zig zag motion - it will help those little nooks and crannies to grab the most dust and dirt. These Swiffer pads were especially made to grab the most dust and dirt possible, so make sure you use them to their full potential.
Are you a big fan of Swiffer? I'd love to hear which Swiffer product is your favorite! Mine are the Swiffer Dusters, and Angeline's is the Swiffer Wet Jet- she uses it to clean the wood laminate floor in her bedroom.
I can't wait to share more fun stuff with you guys over the coming year....get ready for some Swiffer lovin'!
