Since my husband left for a business trip this weekend, my daughter and I found ourselves alone on Labor Day. We normally go out of town as a family during this long weekend, so we knew that we needed to do something fun to still make the holiday weekend special!
With the sun shining for the first time in weeks, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and throw a little BBQ! We headed down to Murphy USA, which is about 10 miles away. Needless to say, I opened the sunroof and we soaked up the sun on the way there!
I really love Murphy USA because everything is always so inexpensive there! We normally stop there for snacks and drinks when we are headed down to the Keys, because it's located right off the end of the Florida Turnpike. It's also adjoined to our Super Walmart, so it's just all kinds of convenient! We stopped there after gathering our snacks for the burgers, buns and veggies for our BBQ.
We found a great selection of cold sodas, Gatorade, bottled water and teas at Murphy USA - and they were all on special! They had so many different kinds of snacks that we had a hard time narrowing down our selections, and don't even get me started on the candy! Murphy USA had everything from Starburst to Hershey's bars. We finally settled on two king sized Snickers, because they happen to be my favorite - and they were on sale for 2 for $2.50! I also bought a tank of propane because we were running low at home, a jug of windshield wiper fluid and bottled water - I love that I was able to get so many different things without having to run around to a bunch of stores!
One thing in particular I couldn't pass up was a box of Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies. I happen to love Little Debbie - practically every thing they sell makes my mouth water. I talk about Little Debbie so often that they actually follow me on Twitter. ha ha!
One of my favorite buys were the two large bags of Frito Lay Fritos we got for $4! They usually run $3 each, but Murphy USA had them on sale too!
We had a great time and everything was delicious! My nieces are already asking what we are going to do with the other bag of Frito Lay chips. I'm thinking maybe a chili pie...maybe we will save that for our Veteran's Day BBQ!
