One of my best friends recently bought her first home, about a year and a half after I bought my own. We each bought fixer-uppers and while it's been nice having someone to talk to about the headache of remodeling, it's also been a little stressful keeping up with her!
It's sort of turned into a game, who upgrades which room with which nice thing each month. Of course I had about a year and a half head start on her, but since I quit working last year, I've only been able to do cosmetic upgrades. With my limited remodeling budget, it's been quite difficult to get major things done around the house. We are nearing the end of our legalization process for those illegal additions we found out about after we bought the house, and that should free up a little more income for the things I really want to do!
The biggest thing on my to-do list for the house is remodeling our bathroom. I hate it. It’s green and yellow – seriously. Tiles up and down the walls, in the bathtub…I have a yellow sink and tub. I HATE IT. Now that I think about it, I don’t even know how to choose a bathtub. I sometimes look on websites and browse thru home remodeling catalogs looking for ideas for when we are finally able to remodel the bathroom.
I recently found this beautiful marble sink cabinet and I am in love! I want my new bathroom to have the sophistication that my current set-up lacks, and this is such a wonderful piece to start out with!
I also came across this bathroom storage cabinet and am totally digging it's simplicity. I could practically use any design theme I wanted in the bathroom and it would work with this piece!
I also came across some gorgeous bedroom vanity sets while I was browsing for the bathroom and had to bookmark a few...but that will have to wait for another remodeling job, now won't it?
