Everyone loves shiny new possessions; A new car, a big screen television, a next generation cell phone or even a new personal Intel Tablets. But what makes all these things so much better than the things we had already? It’s the technology and special offerings of said technology that are designed to make our lives run smoother that attracts us. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 is one such device that is aimed at improving your tablet experience. No matter what you use it for, it has the power to provide you with hours of entertainment.
Need to check Facebook? No problem.
Want to snap a quick picture to remember an event in your life? No problem.
Want to relax and read a book? Done!
What makes all this happen with such ease? The Intel Tab 8 is loaded with updated features, access to online stores (Amazon and Google Play), and the computing horsepower to make things happen quickly. This particular model that I’m using has a quad-core processor that is clocked at 1.8 GHz, it has 2Gb of memory, and 16Gb of storage space. With the addition of the micro SD slot located on the device, you can increase that size with a 32 GB SD card (max) giving you a total of 48Gb of storage space.
The Tab 8 also has an exceptionally crisp screen boasting a 1920X1200 resolution and Zero Air Gap screen which makes viewing pictures and text much cleaning that other devices. The installed OS, Android version 4.4.2, is easily supported on this hardware. Slide motions have zero lag and switching between running application happens without a second thought.
The video quality is quite exceptional as well. All of the colors are displayed bright and clear, darks are dark, and details can be seen that might otherwise be lost on some other devices. With the built-in mini HDMI port, you can even share these stunning videos with family and friends.
Sound quality, from a tablet point of view, is very good. The volume level is plenty loud enough to be heard within a room and is clear enough to make out details of your soundtrack.
When compared to other tablets of this size, you can’t go wrong.
The OS is proven to be stable, the speed is on par with devices costing hundreds more, and the amount of apps within the Google store is overwhelming.
I find myself picking this tablet up more often just because I want to find out what else it can do! I use it mostly for checking Facebook and watching videos, and of course, browsing through photos on Instagram. I find that it’s the perfect size for picking up and checking out a quick video, as it’s smaller than my laptop but of course, much larger than my smartphone!
