As a mom to a 17 year old, you'd think I would be past the days of hearing "I don't want to eat that, mom!" Sadly, I still hear that dreaded phrase at least once a week...and don't even get me started on the arguments surrounding school lunches and after-school snacks! I think the picky-eating issues we face when our kids are little are nothing compared to when they become teenagers with strong opinions about their likes and dislikes. Why do our babies have to grow up into real people?

    AuthorLogo[1]Angeline in NYC

When Angeline was little, I had no qualms with resorting to bribery to get her to try new foods and eat things that she wasn’t particularly fond of – liked mashed potatoes. Bribery doesn’t work so well anymore. When she wants junk food and I offer a more nutritious snack in its place, I can’t exactly bribe her with an extra 30 minutes of cartoons, or a later bedtime. I tell you, all the old tricks just don’t work anymore!

As the kids get older, bribery gets more expensive. Whereas the old “you can catch cartoons” used to do the trick, now it’s expensive WiFi time while we’re traveling, or a stop into her favorite store when she spots one in a new city. Bribery is too expensive now!

I need great-tasting snacks that I can feel good about giving my daughter, especially snacks that are easy to pack and send off to school with her. Have you seen a high school during lunchtime? The kids crowd around the vending machine for junk food, or even worse, they skip lunch altogether and spend the time chatting or catching up on homework. Easy snacks are an absolute MUST, otherwise, Angeline is starving when I pick her up from school.

Thank goodness for Mott's® Snack & Go! These handy, nutritious snacks are fantastic for little ones, but they're also a great snacking option for teenagers and fit easily into lunchboxes, purses and backpacks!

The Mott's Original Snack & Go, Strawberry Snack & Go and Natural Snack & Go are all excellent sources of Vitamin C, which is important for kids of all ages (adults too!), and the Strawberry and Natural varieties have no sugar added, which is fantastic for families trying to avoid excess sugar.

Moms and dads can feel great about giving the kids a great snack and knowing that they’ll actually EAT that snack, and there’s no bribery required.

    Sounds like a win-win, right?

Mott’s® Snack & Go is the nutritious applesauce kids love in a squeezable pouch they can take with them wherever they go. Mott's is also the only applesauce brand with Box Tops for Education®, helping to support kids' schools. Visit us on motts.com to learn more.

Mott's snack and go apple sauces flavors sound great. Usually apple sauce is kind of a mess when you're on the go.

We are all about the Motts applesauce in my house these days. My daughter got a dental appliance and it makes her mouth sore. She only wants to eat soft food.
