I have been compensated by Pedialyte for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
I knock on wood everytime I say this, but our family has made it through cold and flu season completely unscathed this year. Which is no small feet considering that have had two of the most susceptible demographics in our house: a kindergartner and a pregnant woman! As the warm weather is quickly approaching here in Florida, I feel confident that we're going to make it through the season cold and flu free! The end of cold and flu season also signals the beginning of another season in Florida: theme park season! Yes, theme park season is actually a thing down here. As the weather warms up, so do the theme parks. In fact, thanks to our relatively mild winter, my family is kicking off theme park season even earlier this year - at the beginning of March!
My daughter is counting down the days and I am too. We love taking on all of the thrills and spectaculars that Florida has to offer. Our first stop this year? Universal Studios!
My little adrenaline junkie is my favorite roller coaster buddy, and she has no problems shutting those parks down together - as long as I put together the proper care package to get her through the day. The first thing required is a good stroller and great snacks. There is so much energy spent just walking from ride to ride, by bringing along a good travel stroller, Maddilyn can save her energy throughout the day. The healthy snacks give her fuel and stave off an attack of the hangries! I also pack things like wet wipes, antibacterial wipes and at least a change of t-shirt - because inevitably we always need them.
This year I think I'm going to add Pedialyte to her supply kit. I have one of those children who, unfortunately, get dehydrated very easily. I remember a day at the zoo last year that was particularly frightening. Knowing the high temperatures that day, I had been pushing fluids, taking it easy, finding shade and pushing Maddilyn around in the stroller all day.
Even still, as the day drew to a close, she suddenly lost all color and displayed clear signs of being very dehydrated. We hurried over to the splash pad to cool her down and nursed her on Pedialyte the rest of the evening. We had always used Pedialyte when my kids got sick but I'll admit it wasn't the first liquid that came to mind for fighting dehydration related to other causes - now it is! Did you know that Pedialyte is the #1 pediatrician-recommended oral electrolyte solution and the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for hydration? It's great for combating dehydration due to exercise, heat exhaustion or travel any time of the year!
Even better, it's a drink that kids actually enjoy, which is no small feat for a choosy Kindergartner. I also like that it's conveniently placed right in the baby section at Walmart, especially since I've been spending so much time there with our two-month-old.
Right now you can earn $2 cash back through ibotta when you purchase any (2) one liters or Pedialyte or any (1) 8 count powder pack (convenient for on the go). In addition to the liquid and powder packs, Pedialyte also comes in freezer pops which are perfect for staying hydrated during hot summer days or soothing those icky, scratchy throats due to the flu we have been so fortunate to miss this year!
