Here’s a little known fact about me…after I entered my teens, I was never really into boy bands. Well, not unless you consider the Beatles or Led Zeppelin to be boy bands. I totally missed the whole boy band craze of the late 90’s – I didn’t even know who Justin Timberlake was until he starred in Alpha Dog.
I know, I know…half of the women my age in America are shaking their heads in disgust of me right now!
I think Justin is an awesome actor. Being that I liked him so much as an actor, and let’s face it – he’s pretty easy on the eyes – I started checking out his solo music.
AND I LIKED IT. A LOT.
When I heard that The 20/20 Experience by Justin Timberlake was going to be hitting WALMART store shelves on March 19, I knew I needed to pick up a copy!
You can read all about my shopping trip to Walmart to pick up The 20/20 Experience CD in this Google+ story.
If you haven’t been to Walmart t pick up your copy yet, you can order your own copy of The 20/20 Experience from Walmart here!
As soon as I got in the car to drive home, I opened that baby up and popped it in the CD player.
Luckily, my Saturn Vue is equipped with a pretty awesome stereo system and has subwoofers. Great music sounds even better in surround sound in the car!
I know that the younger generation loves their downloads…but there’s just something extra cool about buying CDs when a new album comes out – downloads don’t come with cool CD art or album artwork, do they? You can’t download a song or an album on your smart phone or MP3 player and see Justin all fancied up in a bow tie, smiling back at you!
As soon as I got home, I put The 20/20 Experience in the laptop and imported the album to iTunes so that I could also listen to it on my laptop, iPad and iPhone.
That’s also a nice thing about buying a CD; it’s portable, unlike a downloaded song!
I can pop the CD into the stereo in the bedroom and crank the volume and have a dance party, I can blast the stereo in the car while I’m driving down the highway with the windows down, or I can import the songs to my phone and take it with me on my flight tomorrow.
CDs are awesome.
Especially The 20/20 Experience by Justin Timberlake. I had a little bit of an idea of what to expect because I watched the episode of SNL where Justin was the host and musical guest, and loved his performances! The entire album is more of the same; each song is a little different but they all have that underlying R&B kind of feel to them.
And boy can that guy sing! It’s no wonder his boy band was so popular and he went on to be such a fantastic solo artist, his singing is just as fab as his acting (which I think is top notch)! My favorite song so far – sometimes it takes a few listens to a new album to really decide which song I like the most – is Suit & Tie. It’s catchy, it has rhythm, harmony and the lyrics are fun!
Have you bought The 20/20 Experience yet? What do you think of Justin Timberlake’s new album?
