Like most children, I grew up on classic fairy tale stories like Peter Pan and the lost boys. As we all know, one of the benefits to having children is that you can still watch these Disney classics without feeling immature…It’s all for the children’s sake!
I still get excited when new Disney movies come out, and over the years have found that the sequels to Disney movies can be just as wonderful as the original! Something that we didn’t have when I was a kid in the 80’s was the Disney Jr channel – which has a ton of fun programs for kids to watch!
My nieces and nephews are big fans of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, so when I was presented with the opportunity to review a copy of the new Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns on DVD, I jumped at the chance!
The DVD has 6 episodes that kids of all ages will love, but especially those little Peter pan fanatics! Peter Pan is back––but his shadow is missing! When Peter loses his shadow while playing a game of Catch-Me-If-You-Can, he returns to Never Land to seek help from his kid pirate friend Jake. Embarking on one of his most daring and exciting adventures ever, Jake and his kid pirate pals, Izzy and Cubby, along with lookout parrot Skully, must use teamwork to find Peter’s shadow and return it to its rightful owner. However, their mission is nearly thwarted by the fiendish Captain Hook, and his bumbling first mate Mr. Smee. But bravery and justice win the day and Jake and his Never Land pirate crew once again reveal what it takes to become heroes.
The story is so cute and we all love the new characters that aren’t in the actual Peter Pan movie!
