Its been one of those crazy, whirlwind weekends...a company holiday party for my husband on Friday night, giggling teenage girls taking over the house Saturday during the day, and a holiday party for our friends on Saturday night.
I had the opportunity to play with make up, douse myself in perfume, blow out my hair, paint my nails, and wear my favorite BeBe trench coat with some rockin' red suede heels...its was a blast! Since I quit working in March, I don't have many opportunities to get dolled up. There are no after work happy hours, coworker get-togethers, etc. Each time a party approaches, I plan for weeks beforehand on what I am going to wear. (This may sound silly, but hey, I spend 7 days a week at home entertaining my kid and the dogs!)
Hubby and I had a wonderful time at his company Christmas party Friday night. We mingled, laughed, enjoyed an open bar, a decent meal, and even danced to a song - and we NEVER dance! I caught up with some of his work friends that I don't see very often, met the company bigwigs, and socialized with a bunch of military personnel, which is one of my fave things to do!
Saturday's party was also a night to remember...partying it up with some of my best friends at our friend's home. They had a friend play bartender, he dressed up like Santa - it was super cute! We played a white elephant game, which was so much fun after everyone had been drinking for hours! I drew #1 and thought that meant I was screwed; I never knew that #1 was able to steal any gift after the game was over! I had my gift stolen halfway through the game and after all was said and done, I stole $10 worth of scratch off tickets from a very unhappy guy. ha ha ha I only won $1 but it was fun to steal someone else's gift. I felt so naughty!
I can't wait until next year...or the next holiday party!
