One of the worst parts of trying to lose weight is giving up some of our favorite foods that are too high in calories, sugar or fat for our diet plan. I am on a very restrictive diet and haven’t been able to have my International Delight Iced Coffee since October! When I heard that International Delight Light Iced Coffee was coming to Walmart shelves on January 21st, I was so excited!
The new International Delight Light Iced Coffee will be available in just a few weeks, but I was able to try it out ahead of time!
It is available in vanilla and mocha, which is perfect, because the regular International Delight Iced Coffee mocha flavor was my favorite, and Angeline’s favorite flavor was the vanilla!
I was so happy when my International Delight Light Iced Coffee arrived via UPS last week!
I knew before the shipment arrived that this would be a lower calorie option, but I didn’t realize it was only 100 calories per serving! With 1/3 fewer calories than the regular version, I could easily fit an 8 oz serving of International Delight Light Iced Coffee into my diet plan and still be on track with my weight loss goals.
I’ve lost 23 pounds in about 10 weeks through a very restrictive diet and exercise plan, and it hasn’t been easy at all. As much as I love my International Delight Iced Coffee, I had to give it up for this diet plan. The only thing I’ve been drinking the last few months is water, seltzer water and unsweetened tea. I had a Diet Coke a few times when I’ve been out and about, just to switch it up and taste something sweet, since I can’t have any sweets on my diet unless it’s an artificial sweetener.
To be able to bring my beloved iced coffee back into my day was nothing short of heavenly.
My normal routine in the morning was to fix myself a glass of iced coffee and then sit down to begin working on blog-related stuff. It’s funny how much you miss little things like that when you can’t do them anymore!
Angeline is happy to have iced coffee in the house again too, she has been drinking a glass in the mornings before going to school. It’s perfect because I drink the mocha and she drinks the vanilla – or sometimes we mix them together!
You can find out more about International Delight Light Iced Coffee on the International Delight website, but here is the short version:
International Delight light iced coffee has a third of the calories of the regular version. At only 100 calories per 8 oz serving, it is low fat and low carb too!
Not too shabby, am I right? I like that International Delight Light Iced Coffee also has 4g of protein and a bit of calcium and iron too – with my restrictive diet, I need all of the extra vitamins and minerals I can get!
I’m thrilled that International Delight has introduced this new light version of their delicious iced coffee. And honestly? I can’t really tell the difference between the two. It doesn’t taste like a diet drink and I can’t taste any artificial sweeteners like in most diet drinks because it’s made with sugar and not just artificial sweeteners. I love that!
I can’t wait until January 21 when International Delight Light Iced Coffee will be available at Walmart so that I can restock our fridge!
