I'm Window Shopping for Maxi Dresses...in the Miami Winter!

While my friends around the country are shoveling snow and spending their evenings in front of their fire places, I'm doing something a bit different.

I'm wearing sundresses almost every day.

    Why?

We don't have much of a winter in Miami! While that can sometimes be a bummer, I never have to worry about having two separate wardrobes! All of those cute sundresses in my closet? I just throw a cardigan or heavy sweater over them when the temperature dips below 75...which hasn't happened very often this "winter."

Most of the time, I just throw on a maxi dress, a cardigan and a cute pair of boots and I'm ready to go!

I'm rather short, at only 5' 3", so wearing maxi dresses with heels is one of the easiest ways for me to make myself appear a little taller. I love the long, lean look I can achieve with a cute maxi dress!

I recently found a company based out of the UK, Freemans.com, that has gorgeous maxi dresses, and they've inspired me to revamp my wardrobe for 2012. I really wish that they shipped to the US, but until they do, I'll just window shop their website for inspiration!

I have a ton of sundresses but as cute as they are, I really want to change things up with my wardrobe and add different pieces - something that I can wear during the day with cute sandals and then add a pair of heels and some nice jewelry to make it an evening look.

I found this adorable maxi dress on Freemans.com and think it would be perfect for a weekend visiting my husband in the Caribbean! I plan to visit him again soon, so I now I have my eye out for a maxi dress like this one to take along with me.

I also came across this lovely maxi dress that I think would be perfect for wearing during the day with a cute pair of strappy sandals and a wide brimmed hat - yes, I'm feeling the Caribbean vibe!

I love day dresses that can easily be worn at night. After wearing a cute dress like this around Port of Spain during the day, I'd just throw on a pair of heels and grab a simple clutch and wear it out at night to one of the nice restaurants in the area.

I love wearing dresses, can you tell? Back in my "office job" days, I practically lived in dresses because it was the easiest way to put an outfit together at 6 am when I was getting ready for work. A nice dress and heels and you're done! It's the same way now, I can just throw on a dress for any occasion and not have to worry about matching tops, bottoms and belts.

Are you a fan of dresses? Do you like short and sassy dresses or sexy maxi dresses like these? I'd love to hear your opinions!

Lucky you! I'm stuck in jeans until May/June here in IL. 😛 I love maxi dresses though and I can't wait for summer to come so I can wear them again. 🙂

It is freezing and rainy here, yuck!! So, wearing a cute sundress like the ones pictured above, don't happen as often as I wish!

I've worn a dress a handful of times in my life. I'm big hipped and dresses have never looked right on me. You're lucky to wear them in your "winter".

I love those dresses! I am also short so I know how hard it is to find the right length in any clothes. I will have to check these dresses out for this summer.

It used to be hard for me to find a maxi dress that I could wear with my petite height. I'm the same height as you, and I don't always like to wear heels with mine. So, I'm glad that they're making maxi dresses where I don't always have to wear heels. By the way, I love the ones that you featured. So beautiful!
