    I Hate Getting Sick

Have you ever been sick and just refused to give in? I'm doing that right now. Screw this cold, it will NOT win!

I felt the onset of a migraine Tuesday afternoon and laid down for a nap (the best part about being a housewife is I can do that)...woke up with swollen tonsils, that achy-groggy-generally crappy feeling. I indulged it for the better part of the week by spending Wednesday, Thursday, and most of Friday in bed. I simply could not afford to be sick this weekend.

Friday was my best friend's 40th birthday party - which was being held at MY HOUSE. Saturday night was one of my husband's best friend's 30th birthday party. Sunday was a pool party/bbq being thrown by one of our best friends. (I know, everyone is my best friend) A jam-packed weekend, with each event being equally unmissable.

Friday night I was high as a kite on dayquil and made it through the festivities until around 2:30 - I just broke down. Off to bed I went. I slept like hell, woke up early and felt actually worst than I did the day before. I napped off and on all day Saturday. Saturday night, we lasted three hours at my husband's friend's party before I began to pass out on the couch. I felt horrible, making my husband leave the party so early. But at least I tried, right? I even wore a toga. Yes, it was a toga party. I participated.

Today I woke up thinking, "is this weekend over yet?" I am still sick. This is ridiculous. Don't these germs know I have a very busy social schedule this weekend and I can't miss out on any fun just because they decided to swell my tonsils up the size of golf balls?!

My neighbor suggested that I gargle with a shot of Patron. After 5 days of this, I am actually beginning to consider that as an option.
