How to Do Laundry Like a Boss

Doing laundry is the bane of my existence. I'd rather do almost anything other than wash clothes. I'm stuck with it, though, so I might as well make the clothes look as good as they possibly can. I see tons of dingy whites and dull colors out there in the world, so I thought I'd give you all some tips on doing laundry... Like a Boss!

Doing Laundry Like you Love It

If we're being honest, there aren't too many of us who are in love with doing laundry, but if we're going to do it, we should do it well. I know it's tempting to just throw it all in there and be done with it (guilty) but it really takes a toll on your family's clothes, and it's kind of embarrassing when the family is walking around in a gray shirt that obviously used to be white!

    Separate Those Clothes

This is basic laundering, but with the advent of those products that say you can mix colors, I decided to address it. When doing laundry, always separate your colors. That's a biggie. Don't believe the hype about using special detergent that lets you mix brights, darks, and whites. It doesn't work! I know, because I've tried it. After about three weeks, my whites were looking decidedly dull, and the colors of my other clothes started to look a little off. So always separate your laundry into whites, darks, and like colors.

You Don't Need Color Safe Bleach

That's just a marketing tool. Color safe bleach does nothing for clothes. It's just a marketing tool. It doesn't make your brights brighter or do anything for your darks. I tried that stuff, and it did nothing except make my wallet lighter. The key to keeping brights bright when doing laundry is simply to use a quality detergent and keeping your brights away from dark colored clothing.

    Use a Great Laundry Detergent

This is an important one when doing laundry. You need a high quality detergent. Those bargain basement brands that look like colored water aren't going to do it. You need something that's going to get the job done, not just get the clothes wet and slap some perfume on them.

    Method_Detergent_031315_Beach_Sage_157x

I really like method 4X Laundry Detergent. It's a powerful, all-natural detergent that keeps colors bright and whites white. It also works well in cold water, so I use less energy in every load which saves me money.

Although it's super powerful, it's natural formula means I can pre-treat the stains on my clothes without worrying about damaging the fabric or the color. In addition to all of that, it's hypoallergenic and biodegradable. That means that doing laundry is much easier on me, and I LOVE that.

method laundry detergent features an easy-to-use grip on the bottle instead of a handle because handles on bottles make them not fully recyclable! Did you know that?! I sure didn't! I love that the method bottles are made with 100% post-consumer recycled materials and are fully recyclable.

method is the first brand to give us a fully transparent bottle, and allowing the pretty colors of the laundry detergent to shine through are a great way to brighten up your laundry room!

There’s a fragrance for everyone, ranging from the fruity ginger mango, floral spring garden, herbaceous-woody beach sage and fresh clover, and free + clear, which is fragrance-free.

I don't love doing laundry, but I do love fashion, which is why I think it's so cool that method and ASOS are partnering to release a new girl's fashion line, method X ASOS. It's a fun spring line full of color and fun that I think is equal parts gorgeous and super cute. Check it out!

method 4X Laundry Detergent might be the best laundry detergent I've ever used, and I think you'll love it just as much has I do. That's why I'm happy to let you know that you can try method 4X Laundry Detergent for yourself and save $3.00 off your online purchase. Just use the code: THREEFORME

Doing laundry. Do you love it or hate it? Have any tips for doing laundry that would fit right in here? Let me know!

I actually don't mind doing laundry. It's the stubborn stains I dislike and trying to fold fitted bed sheets. Oh my are those a pain!

This sounds like a great product! I hate how fast laundry rebuilds ups around the house with kids! I can never seem to stay on top of it.

I can't stand when my boyfriend does laundry because he never separates the whites and darks. That's just calling for dingy whites. I also need to try some of this Method brand laundry detergent because I even have a hard time keeping my whites, white. I need something that really works.
