I felt the magic of swiss herbs in Ricola Herb & Throat drops as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #swissherbs
As we move from Summer to Fall, the weather is staring to cool off here in sunny Miami. Which makes for great walks on the beach. But the inevitable seasonal allergy and battle a sore throat issue? Not so much. Here's my secret weapon.
How to Battle a Sore Throat
My favorite time of year is right now. As we move from hot, humid weather to balmy, cool temps here in Florida, something amazing happens. The crisp, salty kissed air feels great on my skin. The cool breeze off the ocean makes for the best long walks along the beach too. It gives me a peaceful time to stare off into the horizon and think about all the changes going on in my life right now and how wide open the possibilities are for my newly single future. I love to also grab my camera and catch as many photos of the beautiful scenery that my natural landscape offers. What I don't love however is the inevitable seasonal allergy cough and my need to battle a sore throat that comes with it. I'm not going to give up on feeding my soul with the vast ocean breeze I crave. So, I've gotten in the habit of some easy tips to keep me going through the weather changes ahead.
As we come up on cold and flu season, most of us are likely to end up with a case of 'the yucks' at some point. The running nose, the sore muscles, and all that coughing with a side of sore throat thrown in the mix are unfortunately all an ordeal we're going to have to muddle through year after year. That awful, achy feeling of being sick can be more than just a bummer. It has a way of keeping us from enjoying the perks of the beautiful fall weather, football tailgating parties, trick or treating with the kiddos, all of the good stuff. My beloved long walks on the sandy beach? I don't even like to think about missing out on those because I'm not feeling well. For me, it can also seriously hamper my job and travel opportunities! Nothing worse than showing up in a new destination feeling under the weather. I'm there to explore and soak up new things. Not spend time in a hotel bed doctoring myself. I'm sure the lack of sleep from long plane rides isn't going to help either. But this year I've got a new weapon in my need to battle a sore throat and hacking cough!
Ricola Dual Action Drops is seriously a life saver! They provide the perfect relief for both my nagging cough and achy sore throats. And, relief is all found in this one amazing little drop. No need to carry a bunch of different bottles and take up much needed room in my travel bags and purse while I'm traveling. They work pretty fast too. Which is really what we're all hoping for right? No matter what we're planning for the day, none of us have time to wait around for multiple meds to kick in. Ricola Dual Action Drops contain a blend of 10 natural Swiss alpine herbs, natural menthol, and now have a soothing honey lemon syrup center. The immediate relief of the drop sort of numbs the pain away while the soothing honey center feels so good coating my throat. I'm really loving the new honey lemon flavor too. A nice break from that overly medicinal flavor of regular drops! In my new quest for a better more healthy lifestyle, I've really been trying to keep away from harsh chemicals and love how the natural ingredients work together to quickly put an end to that ultimate battle a sore throat game.
When you're trying to battle a sore throat, it's important of course to get plenty of fluids and as much rest as you can. Which, can sometimes be tough when kids are back in school and have all their after school activities and sports on top of homework that needs your help. Take a few moment to have a nice cup of tea and set your butt on the couch for a few every day whenever possible. You can't take care of everyone else without taking care of yourself first! Also, you deserve a break in the day sick or not!
Whether you're a travel junkie like me or a mom on the go, I know you'll appreciate that these are individually wrapped as well! They are super easy to toss a few in my purse, the car, and my carry on when flying. I've even stashed a couple in my back pocket when I went out for a girl's night last week. How awkward is it to be a newly single gal out on the town trying to mix and mingle meeting new people when you're hacking, cough and trying to battle a sore throat? Not the best way to make a great first impression. At all.
Look for the new Honey Lemon flavored Ricola Dual Action Drops in a store near you starting this October. You'll be more than glad you did!
