Many people would shrug their shoulders if you asked them if they know the difference between appliances made by top brands and their equivalents made by manufacturers who aren’t household names. While many unbranded appliances work very well, some of them don’t match the quality or build or the longevity of their big-name peers. This tends to be the case for many appliances such as Fridge Freezers.
When buying an appliance for your kitchen like, for example, a Dishwasher, you’ll need to take into account what you can and can’t afford. Although price is the main factor in someone’s decision on whether to buy something or not, there are other reasons why they buy one thing over another. People might take into account some of the additional features on offer. While some people want their appliances free of bells and whistles, others feel that they want to get value for money, so they pick the cheapest one with the most features.
Fridge freezers are a good example. While unbranded and basic appliances keep frozen food frozen and chilled food chilled, there are other things that, while not massively important, are helpful nonetheless. One such feature is the freezer compartment being frost-free. This means that everything stored in the freezer won’t be caked in frost and is a lot easier to get to. Space is another reason why some people go for fridge freezers made by top brands. Many of the larger appliances on the market are made by the biggest manufacturers.
If you’re looking for such a machine, but fear that it may be out of your price range, by looking at websites such as appliancesdirect.co.uk, you may be surprised at how cheap they are. You could even save hundreds on the appliance you want from a big brand without having to pay over the odds.

I don't buy new appliances that often. When I do, my husband and I go together and we have to both want what we get.

I do tons or research online and then we go shop together

UGH -- we've had the WORST spring when it comes to appliances. March saw a new washer AND a new dryer ... looks like April will be a new fridge.
Sigh.
Karen
I always do lots of research first!

Craigslist or Sears. Usually it is Craigslist though since my dad is cheap. 🙂
